Leaf On The Wind

About this design:

Finally decided to try the knotted seed beads on a necklace. Not much else really looked right with this. I had this and the turtle bracelet, in a half finished state, in a ziplock bag with all the green beads. For weeks.

All babies have started sneezing since yesterday. But.they don't act like they feel bad and they are eating. They had warm chicken broth at lunch and will every day. I cant go to the vet. I have $20...great.

Title...from Firefly/Serenity.
I am a leaf on the wind
watch how I soar.

Components:

Ceramic pendant. Green and brown seed beads. Green glass beads. Ceramic round bead. S-lon cord.

Loving it, Deb, knotting is something I probably will never attempt, I tried, but the knots are uneven, any tips? :D

  5. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

Mine are probably not really even either. I just put my finger in the middle and get the beads situated and then pull. Knotting between beads is making me aggravated. My bracelets alway look wonky, like a zig zag.
Beadinggma is who you should ask that question. She is no doubt the expert.

Hey MM you should google “leaf on the wind”. I found this great poem last night when I did. I would put up the link but I’m on my phone. Google leaf on the wind poem.

This is fantastic! I love this!!~!!

Asia-put the tip of a tweezers inside the knot as you pull it tight. Hold it up against the bead with the tweezers and the knot will end up tight right next to the bead. I have a system–wrap the knot loosely, grab the string with the tweezers through the knot right where it comes out of the bead and pull the string tight. The knot forms right at the bead when you do this.

Very beautiful, Deb! You are the queen of fibers! Wish I had the knack of using ribbon and cord the way you do….I treated myself to a copy of Bohemian Inspired Jewelry, so maybe one day…..

    Hope the babies stay well.

Hey Deb, I just wanted to let you know that the litter of stray kittens we’ve been taking care of had the same sneezing. Then a few had their eyes get all goopy and swelled up. We asked the local vet and they said it’s a common problem, so they gave us eye drops and Amoxi-drops. They worked like a charm and didn’t cost much at all. You’ll be happy to know we have now taken them all on board so mom has the 4 days for milk to dry up and then we’re going to take her in to get spayed. We’re taking them with us back to Arizona to get adopted as this tiny town has now human society or animal adoption hopes. It’s going to be crazy with our greyhound an muttly, but well worth it. I’ve attached a picture of the kits ’cause I’m sure they will bring a smile to your face, which is much needed after the Vintaj fiasco today.

Your necklace is so lovely, Deb, and I hope that your kitties are feeling better by now. Sounds like Vintaj needs to get their act together – - – but it would have been hard to pick one winner between the two of you – -

What a great way to handle a ceramic focal! I have a couple of pieces, and they just don’t look right with beads or stones. You’ve inspired me to try the knotted cord, so thanks!

Oh, and I hoped you were quoting from Serenity. Love that movie.
