Triangular

About this design:

The earrings were the starting point for this set - -saw a similar design on another website and just had to try it myself. The simple design of the necklace was inspired by the seed bead necklaces that Jolene posted last March. Also, this is my first experiment with magatama beads - - decided to use them just in the center of the necklace, then used size 8 and 11 seed beads on the sides and back. Finished length 18 inches.

Components:

From Lima Beads: black magatama and seed beads. From Other Sources: 8mm Czech olivine tortise triangles, 12 mm Czech olivine triangles, green glass beads and rondelles from my stash. Finished with black chain and findings.

Thanks, Gail – - hadn’t thought of them as Art Deco, but I am always drawn to anything that is from that era !

Very nice! I love the look the magatamas give the piece, and the green is so striking against the black. The design of the earrings is perfect for those triangles. Gorgeous Paula!

Gosh, Deb, with you were close enough to come over to my house – - have some matte iris brown magatamas and need an inspiration to use them ! And those little beads just line themselves right up like magic – - -

You want inspiration…go look for Bead Me Up Buttercup, Songbeads, the Curious Bead Shop, Smitten Beads….all have facebook & Etsy stores. They use a lot of matte peanut seed beads in their jewelry. Similiar to magatamas…they are the perfect texture/filler/ending in a necklace.
