Denim Taguas

About this design:

Same general idea as with the greens but now how to attach them and what to add?? This time I used macramé and hemp. There are 2 brown strands in the middle and 2 blues doing the knotting. I had already knotted loops onto the nuts and slid them onto the 2 brown strands and knotted around them. The bronzed capri (I believe) crystals were a perfect match and this time I also added antique copper charms to the necklace and Vintaj brass seahorses to the earrings. The last picture is the pair of earrings I made to match the apple green tagua necklace.

Components:

Denim blue tagua nuts, blues mix of hemp, brown hemp, crystals, Tierracast charms, Vintaj brass parawire, deconstructed chain, earwires, and lobster clasp. All of it was from LB.

OMG!!! I’ll send you my address and you can get this in the mail to me ASAP!!! ;)
Becky, the green was so pretty, but this one REALLY speaks ocean to me. DO NOT let Deb see it, because she’ll want it too!

I bought some of the stonewashed tagua but haven’t gotten to using them yet. I know for sure I’ll use brass. I may have to steal your idea. (Like it will be the first time!!!???)

I loved the green one, but this is a real stunner! I love the macrame and all the dangles–great design!

I agree! The green is striking but this one has just got the wow factor of the ocean and that calming tranquil feel! You are totally on a roll! LOVE IT! I so need some taguas!

I already saw it Julie & it’s awesome to say to say the least. You should have done this sooner with nothing but Vintaj charms & entered the contest.
[side note....apparently the last design challenge]
Love that color of blue with the brass!!
(btw Julie how was she supposed to hide it from me??? Secret code to look at it…hahaha)

This stonewashed one is awesome, but I still have to say I’m partial to the green one more probably cause I wear earth tones, but both designs are fantastic. Love those seahorse earrings. It’s all just gorgeous Becky! :-D

Becky, this is awesome! The denim color is so tranquil, and the charms just bring the ocean theme home.

I purchased some tagua beads, too, but they are so many different shapes, I don’t know what to do with them at all!

    Granny Nancy says:

Well, you know I love this design. It would be great in just about any color with appropriate charms and hemp colors.

bronzed capri it is for me Becky!….gorgeous, love how you’ve amagamated several styles (ie crystals on chain with tagua & hemp to create a fantasy)…& macrame/knotting in pale blue is so perfect…& Nancy you know purple would pop!

    Gail Layne says:

Love the stonewashed denim! I’m not sure which is my favorite, they’re both stunning but in different ways! The seahorse earrings are adorable!

:) !! You guys make my day! Thanks for all the love! wow! Feel free to steal whatever ideas you want! I still have 2 more colors to mess with so I might post more after I take a break to play with Jocelyn for a few weeks. We leave this afternoon and I won’t be home until mid August for a weekend relay and then I go back until baby #2 is born.

Oh, Susie–they are a lot of different shapes. I had to balance them carefully. I actually buy 10 of each and don’t use the weirdest one. By the end, I will have 4 colors of odd-man-out taguas and I will use those together.

Becky, this is just one of the most fun things I’ve seen you make ! Love all the things you used in the necklace, love the colors, love the design – - well, you get the idea. Have a wonderful trip and do keep checking up on us – - -

    Gail Layne says:

Becky, so glad you posted about the odd shapes. I’ve bought some of the stonewashed rondelles and tubes and had trouble with large variations in color. I had kind of given up on the design idea but maybe I just need to buy a “batch” of them to get what I need. Thanks for sharing.
