Abstract Butterfly

About this design:

As so often happens for me, I had an idea with a lot of potential. It was a different take on a cuff bracelet using more free form shapes inside the frame. Got it all worked out, textured the wire, formed it around the mandrel, stopped to check it out and discovered I had put all of the texture on the inside. Easy enough to fix, right?

I was busily straigntening everything out but the center got so out of shape I was left wondering how I was going to salvage the bracelet. I put it down and walked away while I considered my options: Take it apart, see if I could hammer the wire back into the shape I wanted, junk the whole idea.

When I looked at it a few hours later I discovered my messed up shape had become an abstract butterfly. The cuff bracelet had been saved but it had morphed into a new shape.

This is a photo of the results which definitely is not a bracelet. I guess you could call it a very wide pendant..?

Components:

14 and 24 gauge copper wire, agate, seed beads and other small beads

very beautiful, a ‘happy’ mistake!…lovely bead combo with the copper….you could even wear it quite high, like resting on your collar bones
