Inspired By Martha ~ Revised

About this design:

Martha (Sunny Chick) posted that gorgeous bracelet with the Kylie Perry lock focal a few weeks ago. I loved it. It also reminded me that I had applied patina to a bunch of lock & key links/charms & forgot about them. Hmmm.... Then I found those cool blue disk beads on clearance at Michaels. So this is my not quite as cool imitation of her bracelet.

Components:

Brass lock link. Blue disk (?) beads. Czech glass halo bead. Brass key charm. Various blue bead dangles. Copper chain. Copper findings. Marine patina.

Deb, not only are the colors you chose very cool but the design is also ultra cool. There is something about keyholes that I am drawn to. Maybe it’s because they are mysterious. When I come across a locked door that has a keyhole my imagination instantly goes wild. What’s on the other side that someone felt they had to lock the door? Hmmmm.

Your design is beautiful! Please don’t ever feel you have to compare your creations to anyone else’s. Other designs of your’s that I’ve seen on LB are proof enough of your talent and creativity :)

I seemed to have invented a new word: “absolite” :)
I meant absolutely. And since aqua/turquoise seems to be so popular, almost any of us would wear your designs if you love those colors. They are awesome.

    Elis Mom says:

Deb, this bracelet is just beautiful! I love Sunny Chick’s designs, too…and must admit I’ve “borrowed” a few ideas in the past. Your take on the bracelet you’re thinking of is uniquely yours, and all your designs are gorgeous!

Fab as always. I like the way it tells a story, and those blue disc beads are DIVINE! They llook like chunks of blue ice.

  16. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

Well so I changed it up just a little. I added more of the little halo beads and moved the chain under it. I liked the bracelet but it seemed….disconnected…don’t know how else to explain it.

  17. Crazy Beader
    Crazy Beader says:

Love your bracelet, Deb ! The colors are so icy blue and your design might be inspired by Martha, but you’ve made it uniquely yours – - -

Those halo beads are fabulous, so of course I love this version even more!! Seriously though, the changes you made really do add to the “flow” of the bracelet somehow. I really liked the other one, but this version has more of a wow! factor.
