Yessss, I've been a good employee

About this design:

My first thought when I began making this piece was that I would love to wear it to my yearly evaluation at work. :) It would give me strength and a toughened attitude in case I would be shredded for something. Well, I won't be needing it anymore but I still think it would be really fun to wear. :)

Components:

Champagne coated quartz crystals, Leather lace, Rollo chain, Pewter Soft Flex wire, all LB, Green Girl Snake from elsewhere and another button from Hancocks (they were 50% off and I went nuts)

This is really a strong piece. I am sure you would have gotten a big promotion if you had worn it to the yearly evaluation! LOL I realy like it.

  2. Gail Layne
    Gail Layne says:

I totally love the snake sticking out his tongue, just perfect to wear whilst getting evaluated :-) and the crystals for strength of course. Love the design as well!

What exactly is the difference between leather lace and just plain leather?? I don’t see any lace?

  3. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

This is too fabulous, Becky! I need to borrow it for my next eval! Love the design and concept behind it! The snake is perfect!

    puppychick labratbecky says:

I guess I am not sure if it is a lace (like a shoelace) but it is flat, instead of being a round cord. Does that help? Susie, I sooo needed this piece at my last eval! :) I already posted it on etsy but I might have another snake… and I do still have some crystals…. :)

    puppychick labratbecky says:

I messy wrapped the quartz crystals to hold them still because they wanted to swing and get stuck. I chose messy wrap because the quartz are so rough. Does that look ok?

  6. Crazy Beader
    Crazy Beader says:

The “messy” wrap looks just perfect to me – - always wondered what someone would do with those crystals, and you definitely found the right answer to that question ! This is, indeed, a very powerful piece of jewelry.

Love the messy wire work on the crystals. It is awesome, and goes really well with the chain and leather. I just love the snake. Another winner Becky!!

    Fresh Baked says:

Love the bold design, but in such soft, pretty colors. Those wire wrapped shards are fabulous!

    Deb Harding says:

Awesome, awesome necklace Becky. You probably would have scared the crap out of someone if you had worn it for an evaluation. I love the messy wraps on the quartz shards.

Isn’t it called leather lace because it is used more to lace things up like necklines of shirts, sides of shirts and pants?

  12. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Good answer about the laces, Deb! I am sure you’re correct. Thanks to all of you for the kind comments. :) I’m never sure whether I can get away with designs like this or not. :)

    Asia says:

I would go nuts with the buttons too, loving the wraps I might steal this, that would be a perfect necklace to wear at the job evaluation :D

Stunning design Becky! I love it all, the colors the leather and chain and especially your wire wrapping on those gorgeous crystals. Oh, and the snake puts it over the top! :)
