Slinky Peach Bellini

About this design:

This started out to be a barrette, but got too big and evolved into a bracelet instead. This is my first attempt at peyote stitch. I tried this stitch before ones that use a loom because I was too lazy to make one.;) I made a loom out of a shoe box when I was a kid, but who has time for that when there's beading to done!

The pattern turned out a little wonky because the Toho beads are not consistent in size. The recommended beads for this stitch are Miyuki Delicas, but I don't have any of those... yet. So I used what I had on hand. I still think it turned out pretty good with the Tohos though. I designed this pattern using a free program online. I had a lot of fun designing it and making it!

I love how this feels on my arm, so slinky and lightweight.

Components:

11/0 Toho seed beads in copper, bronzed gold, marbled opaque avocado/pink, opaque lustered light beige, silver lined milky peach from LB, Walmart copper chain, I made the clasp and end connectors from 18 & 20 gauge copper. wire.

Thank you all! I’m glad you like the colors as I only have a few tubes of 11/0s on hand to choose from.

I’m disappointed with the copper Toho beads because the copper coating is already wearing off. :(

Have any of you had this problem? If so, is there anything to prevent this from happening or another brand of bead that is better? Any in put is appreciated.

Wow Angela it’s really beautiful…beautiful colors. (I am sorry to hear that the copper coating is wearing off though…I.would be very angry after all that work.)
Love your connectors and clasp. Between you and Asia with the handmade components…well I know whom to ask for lessons.
I know what mean about the bracelet feeling so slinky on yoir wrist. I bought a gorgeous navy blue one that has this beautiful wave pattern years ago at a festival. It.does feel good on.

I’m sorry to hear about that Angela. It really sucks, I know cause it has happened to me with the Delicas :( I forgot to ask you about the tool magic on you tutorial, as to where you got it from?

Thank you Elis Mom and Deb! I like the idea of a wave pattern. Hmmmm…next project?

Wanda, I got the Tool Magic from Fusion Beads because Lima Beads doesn’t carry it. It’s great stuff! It peels off so easy for when you need to reapply a new coat.

Tool magic is usually carries in Lowes or Home Depot in the paint dept. also. Sometimes hardware stores carry it. I seriously need to get some myself.

Thank you Gail! And thank you Deb! that’s good info about the Tool Magic, because it could be cheaper from those two places. Although I’ve barely made a dent in mine yet, I’ll keep it in mind for the future.
I love your wave bracelet! Thanks for the photo! I may have to try something like that to remind me of my time on the Florida coast last year. I miss it so. Sigh.

Absolutely beautiful Angela, please do not be so modest, my dear, accept the compliments, you definitely deserve them. You did a first class job with colour selection, as well as the finishing touch with the chain. You are a natural born designer. You were smart as well, when the beads spoke to you, you listened, you may have thought barrette, but they said Bracelet!!
