Mr NutNut Saves for Winter

About this design:

My two boys watch a show called Pound Puppies and there is a squirrel on there named Mr. NutNut! For the longest time my 3 year old called his brother and anybody else, Mr. NutNut! He is one of those really playful kids! So after being inspired by the Humblebeads squirrel, I tried my hand at making one! :D

Components:

polymer clay squirrel, various Czech glass, berry colored hemp, antique brown leather, branch toggle bar(I think it's Nunn design), recycled glass and vintaj acorn bead caps in copper and bronze, 22 gauge wire

Oh now he is just too cute for words. That giant acorn next to him should fill him up for awhile. Cute…cute…cute!!!

Too stinkin’ cute!!! Squirrel is adorable! Love the entire piece! Fishtail braid really works well for a lot of things. :) Now that you have used hemp and waxed linen, which do you prefer? (or am I confusing your designs with someone else’s?)

He’s adorable! You definitely have a flair for polymer clay! The bracelet itself is also adorable. Love the acorns and the berry colored hemp with the splash of berry beads.
How in the world do you manage to do clay with a 3 year old in the house?? :-) My three and four year old grandsons always want to “help” with jewelry stuff. I can’t imagine the “help” I’d get if I tried to do something with clay!

Thanks everyone! I’m glad you like him! :) My two boys loved him too! :)

Becky: I tend to lean towards hemp, just cause I don’t like the sticky feeling of waxed linen. Although I do feel that waxed linen has it’s place in a lot of designs, in which case I will probably be sucking it up and getting over the gooey feeling that I so loathe! ;)

Gail: I admit it is very hard to keep both my boys from “helping”! My daughter(6 months) just plays in her Exersaucer and quietly watches!LOL So to make a compromise, I let them play with their Play-Doh when I use clay! That seems to keep them satisfied for now! They have been practicing my clay techniques with their Play-Doh and trying to make beads, bugs, dinosaurs, dinosaur eggs and all other manner of things a kid has an imagination for! Sometimes kids are just too funny! :D
