English is fine. She knows her name, the word “pretty”, and the phrase “cat treats” and acknowledges each when she’s addressed. And she’s not eating it – that’s the “I’m deciding whether to work this off the stand and run away with it in my mouth” sniff and inspection.
The smart camera shy gray cat picks up phrases like “feed the cats” and “give them some treats” in casual conversation and comes running from across the house. I think she actually knows a LOT of English.
Becky relies more on her looks and wiles to get Ralph to do things for her (She sits prettily and watches while he opens the cabinets for her, stuff like that).
