Floral Black Impression

About this design:

I'm so excited!!!! I made the bracelet bar!!!! There was a small hunk of black clay in the bag with the pre-made canes. It was crumbly so I didn't think it was any good...but I squished and squished it last night and got it pliable. Then I molded it into a bracelet bar shape, pressed a lucite flower into it and then cur ved it on a glass, and baked. And it worked!! This morning I did a little wash with cream paint to make the flower indentations stand out.

I looked through the stuff I had made and I have not made a single thing in black!!! Wait no I made the braided pearl necklace but that's it. So I'm extra excited just because of that.

Components:

Handmade PC Bracelet Bar. White howlite rounds (LB) Black crackle agate. Black & white seed beads. Gunmetal toggle, tube bead, rondell beads, jump ring. Silver bead cap. Black S-lon cord.

Hey Lois….what have you been up to?? You haven’t been posting much lately…was hoping things were okay.

Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it. I’m trying to decide if this is the answer to my not being able to afford artist made focals. What do you think?

Thank you Julie, Gail, N4B, Angela and Wanda. I know its not perfect but I’m still excited. Looking through my old craft books I found one on using polymer clay…I don’t even remember buying it…lol. That craft bookclub had me buying a lot of stuff!! Anyway maybe I will get better at it.

Hi Deb! Yes, I agree, I really do think you’ve found your answer :) It’s been there all along. This design has your singnature ‘fingerprints’ all over it. Organic, rustic, whatever you’d like to call it – I like it. Would love to buy a handmade bracelet bar from you anytime, so let me know when you start manufacturing :)

Becky you snuck in while I was commenting. So thank you. I also have a block of white clay. Its also about 15 years old but never opened. I think I’m going to stick with solid colors with impressed designs for the time being. I camt see myself making little animals or birds really. Lois I don’t know if I’m ready to sale yet but who knows.

Deb, this is a fantastic piece I love the black and white theme, you rock girl. Now if you need to rejuvenate an older PC add just a drop of oil to it when you are kneading your clay, but be careful just a drop at the time, less is better.

    Deb Harding says:

Thank you Asia! :) I really appreciate your compliments because I admire your work. So far I haven’t had to use any oil and all the clay I’ve used has been about 15 years old…okay maybe only 12 but I’m not sure.

Deb–All my PC is at least 15 years old and saved in ziplocs and all I have to do is work it to soften it up. I think the stuff is darn near indestructible. :)
