Turning Leaves

About this design:

I'm not usually into making necklaces, maybe because I don't wear them very often. But after doing all the wire wrapping on these earrings, it got me thinking on how I could incorporate that into a necklace rather than the usual bracelet. I liked how the messy wraps turned out so I did some larger ones in the necklace to add interest. I hope it works with the rest of the piece. Please let me know your thoughts!

Components:

Czech glass luster pistachio leaf drops & puff coins, wine country & marshmallow toffee fire polished rondelles, Toho seed beads, Vintaj Parawire, ear wires and textured jumpring all from LB. Brass chain from my stash. Handmade clasp, infinity link and coils.

I like this look a lot…has an almost tribal feel without being over the top. The wire wrapping on the front of the necklace looks very cool..and the pendant! Lovely!

I like it. Instead of just a functional item, the wire wrap is now a major part of the design. :)

Find the wine country czech beads with the pistachio just so shocking(in a fabulous way)! Your wire wrapping adds so much interest, and the three strands of seed beads between the czech glass is perfect!

You should do necklaces more often because this is fantastic. You know I love messy wraps (because I have a hard time with neat ones…lol). I’m just trying to figure it out. So its strung and on the beads joining the seed beads the wire coils are just strung on the wire also?? You know this is stealable…right?? :)

I hate it when Deb steals all my words :-) You really should do more necklaces though, this is fabulous! I love the messy wrap as a focal bar and the colors are unexpected and fantastic together.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments! Thanks for the encouragement on this design, so I guess I’ll be making more necklaces. ;)

LOL Deb! Sometimes the neat ones fight me too! Yes, you are correct that I made the little coils first and then strung them on with the beads. Then I did the messy wraps in the middle and the two ends after it was all crimped. And go ahead Deb, steal away! :)

Fabulous, Angela!!! All the comments have been said and DITTO everything! I for one am going to steal the idea for the messy wrap at the front where the bail hangs. The color combo is so fabulously rustic. Love it all!!!!!
