Southwest Sunset

About this design:

I'm sure you all recognize the major components in this from the big box stores. I've had them forever but never done anything with them 'til now. I liked the southwest look of the three-hole connectors but could never really figure out what I wanted to put with them. Any larger beads didn't really work so I decided to use the copper tubes to frame the 4mm mookaite which made it very sleek. Then I added a few personal touches with my handmade elements.

Components:

3-hole connectors, copper tubes & mookaite from my stash, handmade clasp, coiled crimp covers and charm.

I keep coming back to your design, Angela. Awesome idea for crimp covers!
Got a question on mechanics; how/when did you place the coiled crimp cover over all 3 strands?
I can’t imagine wrangling 3 at a time and getting them to stay put until the cover is in place. 8O :-)

Stunning bracelet! Your detailed finishes with the stringing fooled my eyes into thinking this was wire work. Either way, it’s gorgeous.

Wow! You all made my day! Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. :) Little Pizzaz, I do have it for sale in my etsy shop. Thanks for asking. :)

Peggy, the crimps are covered with wire coils I made because the crimp covers I have were not big enough.

Mary S, it was a total pain to wrangle the three strands, especially trying to string the ends back through the tubes next to the crimp. But after all that and crimping each end I then slipped the coil cover over the end. That was the easy part. ;)

Really, really awesome! I love the stones’ color variances, and how they still look autumn-ish even with the pink tones. They go so well with the copper!

    SYD Sydney H says:

Angela, how big are the round beads on Southwest Sun set? They couldn’t be much more than 6mm. I have the copper spacers with the exact same design, but in your photo the s-swirl looks – different. I thought maybe the spacers were made in larger sizes than mine.

  33. SYD Sydney H
    SYD Sydney H says:

OOPS!!! Just went back and read your description and see they are 4mm. So ignore last comment.
But, WOW; it looks so much bigger than that. Cameras are funny creatures; no wonder they put 5-10 lbs. on us.

  34. SYD Sydney H
    SYD Sydney H says:

Here I am again – LOL. I need to know what size crimp beads you used on Southwest Sunset. I’ve never made a 3 – strand that terminated this way.

  35. SquirrelGirl aka Angela
    SquirrelGirl aka Angela says:

Hey Syd! I’m so glad you like this. I’m not sure what size crimp tube exactly, but it was on larger side to accommodate all the strands. I didn’t have a crimp cover large enough to cover it in fact, that’s why I had make those coils to serve as crimp covers. Hope that helps!
