Gold Leaf

About this design:

I was just messing around with some craft wire today, practicing my wirework and decided to make a little beaded bracelet with some of the links I made. I really like how dainty and light weight it is, and am thinking about making some with good copper or silver wire and other colored seed beads but I'm worried it may be too simple. What do you all think?

Components:

20g gold colored craft wire and 6/0 Czech glass bronze seed beads

Holy craft wirewire! This was “just messing around ?” It’s not too simple at all. I can’t even imagine how you start this type of work.
I agree with Judy. It’s very elegant. I know the materials weren’t expensive, but it sure has an expensive classy look. I love it when people turn craft store materials into art.

This is so awesome! Love the gold with the brown beads. I can’t even imagine sitting and wire wrapping like this, mine always turn out wonky and then I give up.

Thank you GrannyChick Nancy! You all have convinced me to try this out with my good wire. The first order of business will be silver and sapphire. ;)

Wanda, you snuck that one in before I finished typing to GrannyNancy. Thank you for your wonderful comments and you are so skilled at making jewelry, I’m sure you can easily master wirework too. It’s not that hard, it just takes a little practice. :)

I like how you turned the hook so that it keeps the bracelet flat. :) Clasps like that hook at 90 degrees and one side or the other is usually twisted. Great job! Go with the idea above or since it is leaves, maybe some malachite or emerald with the silver. (green, of course) :)

Always the odd man out, I see this as a more funky, casual piece and envision the silver good wire with turquoise and maybe a splash of lapis. Love the links and envy the wire work. No way is this too simple!

Gorgeous, and your wirework is stunning as usual! I see this worn alone or stacked with a few gold link bracelets. Either way, it is totally elegant. I wish you lived in my area so I could take a class with you!!

This is really beautiful and not too simple at all. I could see that as that “go to” bracelet that gets used quite a bit.

Yeah…I agree, I love it! I think it’s elegant but I also agree with Gail! I think you could go either way! Dressy or layered with other bracelets for a casual look! Either way they would be awesome! They are really beautiful! :)

Favorite! I can only hope to get 2 or 3 links to look the same, and you have a whole bracelet of perfection. Makes me want to “play” with my craft wire, too! Green with gold beads for Xmas? :)
