Interchangable Necklace

About this design:

I finally broke down and bought the bronze Green Girl howling wolf pendant I have drooling over for sooo long. I knew I would want to wear it a lot so I had to figure out a way to change the colors and stones but still using the same pendant. So I came up with this design which incorporates my homemade connectors that allow me to change out the middle section on each side. I plan to make more in different colors..green and navy blue to start. I also have the GG pewter squirrel pendant(duh!) and I'm going to do the same with that one in antique silver findings and other colors.

Components:

Both include GG bronze wolf pendant, Vintaj chain and Parawire, chocolate shell pearls. 1)Antique Jasper and Castle Dome turquoise nuggents. 2)Czech glass Fireside rondelles and Rustic Sunfire rectangles and iris brown freshwater pearls. All components were from LB except for the Castle Dome turquoise nuggets which were from a fellow LB friend.

Oooh! Love it!! Am so going to steal the idea (in some form…)! I’ve made lots of necklaces with detachable pendants — this is the other way round! So clever. And love your wirework too, this is very neat!
You could make different lengths of the detachable parts, to make it even more versatile, or is that idea built into the clasp part, which doesn’t show in the photos?

Wonderful idea! There is just so much you could do with this! Chunky stones, southwestern styling, tribal, etc. depending on your mood of the day.

Thanks for the great comments! I agree that it has a lot of versatility of styles and stones that could be used. I also have several more connectors I made for the pendant, which I can switch out for a different look. I did not put a clasp on the back because it’s easy enough to use any of the connectors to take it on and off.
