Butterflies Are Free

About this design:

Actually they were 50% off. THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT WANDA!!! I went to Michael's to find those wavy spacer beads Wanda had used. Well I found them...along with the flower beads and the large butterfly beads. All half price so how could I say no??

The 2nd bracelet does not yet have a clasp. I'm stumped on what to use. Button/toggle/hook/wood bead???

Sorry I have not been around much. I come here and look but don't comment because I'm using all my phone data for job searches (more later) or Facebook. I've gotten involved in several pages that promote responsible ownership of Pit Bulls and battling several pages that are dedicated to having all Pit Bulls banned, euthanized, eliminated. I spend a lot of time scouring these pages for the hateful things they post, taking screenshots and posting these on pro pit bull pages. The level of hate that these people project against anyone that does not follow their beliefs is appalling. I could show you things that would make you sick....

Job update. I've actually had responses from several merchandising companies. Went for an interview, did not get that job but I am being considered for another upcoming position. Fingers crossed.

Components:

1) Reconstitued stone butterfly focal. Howlite flowers. Stone wavy spacers. Aqua beads $1.00 walmart. Seed beads. Watch bezel toggle ring. Handmade seed bead wire toggle. 2) Stone butterfly focals. Seed beads. Magnasite beads. Metal painted flower beads.

    Thank you both very much.
    Which one Nancy?

Unfortunately I don’t think those beads are on sale anymore. When I went EVERYTHING was half price.

    Miss you, Deb!
Press on with the APBT advocacy. They need you. Owned, bred (two litters ONLY) and showed in the early ’80s while living in Burlington, MA. Kept most of my dogs because responsible owners were hard to find given the breed’s unfair/unearned reputation. Rescued several roll dogs. Heartbreaking. Town passed laws so strict that continuing with the breed was nearly impossible. Thankfully, we moved.

Keep pressing on with the job search. You’re in my prayers.

As always, your bracelets are divine!!!!

Hey Lois. I appreciate the compliment really.

What I mainly do is find all the *hate* speech propagated and encouraged by Dogsbite.org. Those people are just all kinds of crazy. They remind me of Westboro Baptist Church. Did you know I am a narcissitc sociopath, who does meth, I’m covered in tattoos, I have a criminal record, appatently an.extremely low IQ, I have a tool box with my dogs meds because I refuse to vet them, I’m a member of the KKK but yet I’m a gang banger livin’ in da hood!! My Mom was really surprised!

Love them both. The beads are a great find at Michaels..but it’s the design that makes them great!

  13. Laud
    Laud says:

Great work! I like the colors and spirit of both pieces. What to use for the second clasp? Antique copper, a button (if you have one that fits in), or wood.

  14. Fresh Baked
    Fresh Baked says:

Love the butterfly beads! And your design skills with them on these bracelets.
I’m with Laud on the button closure…copper or wood perhaps?

Deb, these are so you and so cool!!! I also agree with Laud–you can get cool buttons at fabric stores, too, if you don’t see any others you like. I so hope you get that job!!!!

Keep up the fight, girl! I have researched dog abuses, too, and I become so upset I cannot get it out of my mind, can’t sleep, can’t function without crying… I would take them ALL in… a big dog ranch. I cannot bear to keep reading the hate but if there is a way to have those people thrown into jail (just so it isn’t when you are there :) ) I am all for it. Let me know how I can help get that law passed.

Hang in there, girl! We are all pulling for you!

Sounds really bad if it’s like Westboro… THEY are infamous even the other side of the Atlantic — just watched two BBC documentaries, plain weird! Yes, hang in!
Love the second, turquoise and brown best, fave combination!

Thanks for all the compliments everyone. I’m going to look for a button for the bottom bracelet based on all your comments!! :)

Becky the best thing you can do is OPPOSE BREED SPECIFIC LEGISLATION in your state, county, town…where ever. It could affect you because your dogs are labs and could get the right (or wrong) boxes checked if someone filed a complaint…just because your dog barked.

  19. Lois D
    Lois D says:

Good advice, Deb. We were fighting just such legislation in Massachusetts back in the mid to late ’80s. Such legislation is firmly established (as you well know – I’m not tellin’ ya anything new) in many parts of the country.
Our town wrote legislation so strict as to force those of us who owned not only purebreds, but cross breeds of pit bulls, boxers, any breds they deemed potential ‘vicious’ (even Dobermans) to carry a minimum of one million dollar rider attached to our home owner’s insurance.
Our dogs could not be taken off my property without being muzzled. That included taking them in my own car – ANYWHERE. Any of these so called ‘vicious’ dog breeds or crosses had to be housed in a chain link kennel with top and bottom, padlocked, while in our own backyards.

It’s amazing how draconian this government intrusion has become. Interestingly enough, during the years we fought against this legislation, the breed which caused the most dog bites in town were smaller dogs like Cocker Spaniels!!

(end of soapbox…sorry to derail conversation)

Deb, didn’t realize at first there were 2 bracelets. I was in awe of the butterflies. My family was visiting for 8 days so I mostly was skimming thru here.

Love the bracelets, the colors and unique shape of the spacer beads are awesome.
I just want to add, keep up the good work your doing for this beautiful animal. Love them all.

  22. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

    Nancy…don’t worry…I.was kinda teasing you.
Thank you JC for the compliment.
Losi…you did not derail the conversation at all!! I feel really strongly about this subject. I believe owners, ALL DOG/PET owners should be responsible for their pet’s behavior. BUT treating my dog like a criminal when she.has not done anything is just plain WRONG! That is institutionalized MINORITY REPORT for dogs. Punishing them for something ANOTHER DOG MIGHT DO. I’m sure Philip K. Dick did not.foresee that when he wrote that story. If you want to see the mindset of the people Im talking about go to facebook (if.you are on it) &.visit dogsbite.org’s page. Look specifically for the post about the woman who lost her leg from a dog bite but is having a fundraiser for pit bulls. There are.some vile.comments. off my soapbox.
