Moorish Snowflake

About this design:

I have been making snowflake pendants lately and this is one that I made out of black twinkle clay. I stamped the snowflake design, highlighted the detail with acrylic paint and then resined the pendant to protect the snowflake. My husband said it reminded him of Moorish architecture, so thus it was named.

Wow Jess…this is sooo pretty! I love what you did here. I just love working with PC and especially mixing the colors. It’s like a surprise every time you slice it or carve it!

So nice. Your clay beads are very unique and artistic. It inspires me to try my hand at it. What kind of oven do you use to bake the clay beads?

    Thanks everyone! :D

DayLilly aka Del: I just use a toaster oven. As long as it has the temperature you can set, you are good to go! Also make sure that you have an oven thermometer, as toaster ovens can be off on temperature. You can use a regular oven, but there is a lot of talk over whether it is safe over time because the repeated fumes that occur when using. So I looked around and realized that I could use a toaster oven and then realized I had an older one in our barn, so that is what I use. It doesn’t have to be a fancy one, just as long as you can set the temp. I hope this helps. :D

Thanks Jess for the oven advice. Beads are so expensive and it is hard to find exactly what you need. You have inspired me to give it a go.
