Wow! Absolutely gorgeous! The colors are fabulous together! How did you do the beading on the sides? (I’ve never loomed before, can you tell?)

I beaded the body with 8/0 toho on the loom. The Picasso beads are great because they have lots of variation, so I did not even mix them. Then I added 11/0 (3 each) on the edges by hand. It is not really difficult, just time consuming. But the beads feel like a rich fabric on the wrist. I think the 3 bead edge is called a picot. You can all all kinds of beads after the body is loomed.

Thanks Nata. It is a very simple design. I have never tried all the beading that you do. Maybe I will work up the courage.

The side beading is just enough contrast to give it the finished look. Want to try this but have way to many beads to use up first. Lovely piece.

Del, Thanks for the info! I just received a loom for my birthday but it has very limited instructions. I really like your beaded edge. I think it really makes your piece look “finished”. I also love your cabochon. Did you have a tutorial to learn how to do all this or are you naturally “one with the loom”? :-)

I have a book by Sharon Bateman called “Loom Beading”, and the book on cabs is called “Beading with Cabochons” by Jamie Cloud Eakin.

Thanks, all. Working on the loom is very relaxing, a lot like knitting. I am definitely going to make more.
