Forest Snow

About this design:

I have had this snowflake jasper for over a year and still hadn't done anything with it! Sooooo....I decided to use it for a bracelet!

It was inspired by the photo that Gail sent me of the snow they got! :)

I was going for a snowy day with icicles hanging off the side of the house. I am not quite sure how I feel about it....any thoughts!? I tried using a mix of clear lodolite chips and moonstone to achieve the look of ice.

snowflake jasper, lodolite chips, moonstone chips, moonstone 6mm rounds, czech glass, vintaj brass leaf that has been patinated to look frozen and icy, sari silk, 16 gauge vintaj parawire for handmade clasp

This certainly works for me, Jess :) The gorgeous snowflake jasper justaposed against my favorite gem, moonstone, reminds me of icy snowstorms during the night AND day. Coupled with that iodolite and you’ve achieved that look famously!
This necklace really “calls” to me. Another excellent creation!

It reminds me of being in a forest after a winter storm, when the tree trunks are dark with moisture and the branches are glittering with ice.

Thanks so much everybody! :) I think I might have to rename it to Forest Snow! After Gail’s description, it seems much more suitable! :D I hope everybody has a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :D

I totally love your bracelet! It reminds me of my days in the mountains of Colorado. The little ties of green sari silk and white cord are a genius addition. Love it … love it …love it!

I think it’s amazing! The stones look like they came straight from outdoors, with a little added polish, and I love the color combo! I would love to make something like this, only I have no such big lovely chunks — have to keep my eyes open! AND paired with my favorite wire too!

Yep, Gail nailed it. I have been trying some seasonal water themed designs and this is very “rain forest” to me as well.
