Never Heard of Hemimorphite Earrings

About this design:

More of my gemstone slabs. One of the reasons I love making jewelry so much is that I get to discover and use stones I never heard of and this is one of them. It's gorgeous! I love the combo of the blue and gray so I added some hematite flower beads, black seed beads and tiny faceted Thai silver beads. I did a slightly different design so when the earrings are on the wide part of the slabs face forward.

Components:

hemimorphite slabs, hematite flowers, seed beads, Thai silver beads, sterling silver wire

I love hemimorphite! I also recently discovered it, when I spotted some at Michael’s for $15 for a small amount of rounds. It’s really lovely. You did a great job showcasing it!

Love these. I am a minerals collector and I have never seen or heard of this stone but I am totally in love with it. And the way you created earrings with them are nothing short of tremendous. Do you know where it is from?

Lovely! I have a small collection of this stone, too, but none of mine are slices like this.

Hi DayLilly. I don’t know where my hemimorphite came from but when I googled it it said the the stone is found in many places around the world including the US. When you google it you can see that it comes in many different shades of blue. It is an exquisite stone and now that I know what it is I will be looking for more of it!
Thanks everyone for all the positive comments. I sell my jewelry on etsy and it’s so slow right now. I always start to doubt myself whenever it’s like that. Also, I need to sell more so I can keep buying more gorgeous beads! I definitely have an addiction. I just can’t resist the beauty of natural gemstones. Happy New Year everyone!
