Blue Fairy

About this design:

A piece I made for my other close friend, this was also my first time using the Metallic color line of Vintaj Patina- I used the Bronze one to make the Pewter fairy pendant match my Vintaj Brass pieces. I think it worked fairly well, and was pleased. I used the same hammered JumpRing technique I used on my Owl piece, and handforged the clasp from Vintaj Natural Brass Parawire.

Components:

Blue Quartz Briolette; Vintaj Natural Brass Etched Chain, JumpRings, Headpins, and Parawire; Pewter Fairy Pendant coated with Vintaj Bronze Patina; Poetic Spirit Viscose "Silk" Ribbon; Genuine Sapphire Faceted Rounds, and Swarovski Crystals.

Its funny how in one picture the brass almost looks like copper. That bright blue would be real pretty in copper and something different. But this pendant and the beads and all – its all so unique. I love it.

Thank you both! I actually am going to be making some copper pieces soon-just waiting for my supplies in the mail. =^___^=

This is one LONG necklace — and I’m sort of into that at the moment! Love all the detail, and the wirework is SO impressive! Does the smaller gauge on the clasp stick all by itself, or have you glued it?
I HAVE to get some of that bronze patina, it clearly would solve a lot of problems!

Beautiful necklace and I love the different shape of the clasp! The bronze patina on the pendant really seems to do the trick tying in all together. Is the patina transparent? I’ve used the Swellegantt metal paints which cover fantastically but you do need to patina over them as they look a little fake.

Thank you, everyone! I really appreciate the compliments, makes my day brighter!

Monica: The smaller gauge is just very tightly wrapped and the ends carefully clamped extra close to the larger with the pliers.

Gail: I haven’t used the others I bought yet, but the Bronze one is not exactly transparent, but not super thick and solidly opaque, either. Kinda in-between, I guess? It’s hard to describe…

Beautiful design and your wire work is fantastic! I love what you did with the pewter focal. I recently acquired a bunch of pewter pendants and their finish is sort of plain/dingy looking. I didn’t think of using my Vintaj patinas on them. What a great idea! Now I need to get to work sprucing up those pieces! ;)
