Tranquil Spirals

About this design:

My first pair of earrings using handforged Earwires! The wire used is Vintaj Artisan Copper Square Parawire, and it was coiled into spiral Headpins, then twisted into Earwires and hammered for strength and texture. I sanded the edges to make them smooth and able to be worn without injury. Dangling from them is my first experiment using waxed linen cord, along with handmade Oval Links holding small Hemimorphite Ovals on Copper Headpins. They aren't perfect, and hopefully with practice I will get better, but I think they have a quirkily cute look to them. (Sorry about the quality of the photos, the iPad doesn't take as great of a picture as you'd think.)

Components:

Vintaj Artisan Copper Square Parawire, Hemimorphite Flat Ovals, Copper Headpins, Turquoise Colored Waxed Linen Cord, Copper Headpins, Air Blue Opal Swarovski Crystals

These are super cute! You’ve done a fabulous job Sonja. I love your waxed linen dangles. What gauge Parawire did you use for the earwires?

Thank you for all the compliments! This site always makes me feel encouraged.

Nancy: I cut the tip of the cord at an angle, and veery gently threaded it through by hand.

Gail: I believe it was 21 Gauge Square Wire for the earring wires, and 18 Gauge Round for the Links.
