    DayLily aka Del says:

Julia, I cannot for the life of me do kumihimo with beads – they never line up correctly. What kind of string do you use? Maybe that is my problem.

  12. AllureofGemsGlamJulia
    AllureofGemsGlamJulia says:

Del, I use hemp twine (10 lb) or C-Lon thread (.4mm), both I buy from LB.,depending on the hole size of the beads.Japanese beads are more precise in their beads and holes while Czech beads have some defective beads and the holes are not precise so you have to buy more just in case… :) DO NOT BUY CHINESE BEADS!!! Bad quality and who knows what is in it… :(

    Gail Layne says:

Wow! Absolutely gorgeous, Julia! I think this is my favorite piece of yours also! The earrings are adorable as well. Like Julie, the bead caps on the earrings remind me of baskets of flowers.

    8 threads 1 m each.
3 threads in the following pattern:
    20 Magatamas then 2round beads, 2 Magatamas,8 round, 3 magatama,4 round ,(different direction for Magatama):3 magatama,8 round, 2 magatama 2 round , 20 magatama.
