Olde Romance

About this design:

More body parts from 2 necklaces ago! :) This one was more of a struggle because I wanted to add too much into it. I finally settled on a simple asymmetry. What do you guys think? Re-do or add to it or leave it?

Components:

Czech glass turbines, LB, Pearls-white from LB, peach from my stash, Vintaj brass parawire, flower cap, and other beadcap, LB, Czech glass flowers, my stash, Irish waxed Linen, LB, and 2 colors of seed beads, LB, there is also a peach moonstone iside that Vintaj flower. :) from my stash.

    Just beautiful!

I really like the contrast of the rough white pearls with the smooth peach pearls. I think the dangle is cute, but it’s a little minimal for what’s going on the necklace. Maybe a couple more dangles with it??? It’s not really “focal” enough yet… IMHO :)

Love this – understated Elegance – beautiful piece and looks like an antique piece of jewelry.

Thanks, Julie–I was considering that. It is more the weight I needed. I almost didn’t add a focal at all. This one was a bear. And thanks Cindy and Judy!

It already has 5 favorites on etsy! ??????

I cannot answer your question, but 99% of the time that I find myself asking if a piece I’m working on needs more…the answer is no. Probably not a helpful answer…

That said your necklace has a balance of lovely elements and a sweet pendant.
What more could one ask for?

I like it as is. I think if more was added to the focal, it would take away the elegance of it. There are many different components in it, and more at the focal area would make it too busy…but what do I know? LOL I find when I start second-guessing a piece, it’s best to leave it as is.

Well, I’ve already “Faved” it on Etsy…..
    What’s that tell ya’?!! ;-)
I do like Julie’s idea of adding a bit more to the focal. But still, as it is now…..It’s gorgeous!

    Blooming Ideas says:

Beautifully designed, right down to the smallest of details.

  14. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

I think it is very pretty Becky. It reminds me of the pieces I see in an Etsy store called TiedUpMemories. I can’t decide if it would better with more in the focal area or not.

  15. Beadzilla aka Wanda
    Beadzilla aka Wanda says:

Another fabulous piece with the peach and brass, Becky! Love how you layered the bead caps together for the focal!

  16. puppychick labratbecky
    puppychick labratbecky says:

Thanks for all the helpful and very kind comments! I tried adding a few bits and wasn’t sure that helped so I am going to leave it as is and see if it sells. If it gets to the point where I have to renew it, I will probably rework the focal area.

You guys are VERY helpful!!!!! love ya!

    Gail Layne says:

I’m late to the party but if I were to change anything, I would add a few longer, dainty dangles coming out of the bead cap but its fantastic as it is as well. I love the turbines in this! Such a rich, lux look!
