Because I like Orange

About this design:

It's too cold to go out, I even skipped a bead show because I didn't want to dare the highway with the blowing snow. So I made some necklaces. I hope it doesn't seem like I'm in a wire-rut, because they all feel a little different to me. I even switched to gold Artistic wire for these! :)

Components:

Carnelian, Orange Botswana Agate, Artistic Wire, Swarovski crystals, gold chain

Are you kidding?? We ALL want to take lessons from you!! :) I just want to stare at these all day and try to follow the wires to see how you do this!

I LOVE the combinations of oranges you chose, too, and the perfect placement on your partially handmade chain links!! Those focals are to die for! I especially like the second one and if I can figure it out, I might need to steal that! :) !!

lol Becky! I will give you a hint. I used the 18g wire to “trace” around the rutile quartz (I think that’s what it is), then I just made up & down loops next to that. I used the finer 24g wire to “sew” the stones in and secure the frame. I left a long tail on the 18g, wasn’t sure what I was going to do, but I ended up making the big swirl.

I got that horse-eye shaped bead from LB in the “clearance” section. It’s a cool shape! I may look for more stones like that, with or without the ‘windows’.

Love these! Wow, your wirework is so intricate. I’ve wanted to get those horse eye stones but wasn’t sure how to use them, well you’ve solved that! :)
