A Ray Of Sunshine!!!

About this design:

I started out making the earrings first, then thought I should make a set, so started the pendant. The pendant looked like something was missing so I added the wire wrapped around, that helped but still too plain.I had a necklace I had made along time ago( just did'nt sell) so I took the amber and tigers eye form that and added it to the pendant and the necklace. What do you think? Should I add some to the earrings, or would that be too much????? O.o

Components:

18,28 and 24 gauge copper wire.Tigers eye and Butterscotch Amber. ( was told that was the name of this amber??)I made the toggle casp(18 gauge)

Love the amber and tiger’s eye together! I think you did a great job! If it were me, I’d add a few beads to the earrings..but just a few..

Love the butterscotch amber (or whatever it’s called). Such a happy color to this sunny necklace and great wire work, JC!!

Don’t change a thing. I like all the pieces, and the earrings are lovely. I think the wirework in them does all the talking, and the little beads are just enough. If I had created them,I’d want to add extra beads too,but I’m always doing that.
    Stellar wire work!

JC I think this is wonderful just the way it is! I love the cluster of beads a little off center, and the earrings are WOW.

It’s funny, I have been drawing out some designs with elongated curls…they look something like yours! Haven’t made any yet though. You do inspire me!

Cindy, “great minds think alike”lol I hope you do make yours, I’m looking forward to seeing your design. Your work inspires me as well.
I want to learn how to patina the copper.have any of you talented ladies ever worked with liver of sulfor???( oh where do you buy it?) :D

I agree with Gramnan; they are comfortably light weight the way they are. Not too many people can take weight on their ears. Necklace is PERFECT

As has been said – perfectly beautiful – love the set as is! I wouldn’t change it; the necklace and the earrings would be competing with each other if you add more to the earrings. Love the color, too.

This piece is fabulous! I adore butter amber and you’ve used it beautifully! Your wire work is impeccable as well. The earrings are absolutely stunning, however if it were me I’d add a piece or two of the butter amber to them. (Did I mention how much I love butter amber? Lol!) Wonderful set!

A bit late to comment on this one — but have to, they are so beautiful and well made, not to mention inspiring… LOVE!! I’ve stained copper with a black patina which is not Liver of Sulphur. It doesn’t smell at all, but does contain a mixture of nasty acids (forgotten which, and the bottle isn’t where I am right now), and a sulphur compound: it stains any metal quite instantly. I got it at a local shop, so it won’t help you much, but at least you know there are alternatives (boiled eggs in a plastic bag could be another, I’ve read..).

Had a look at the bottle, it apparently is some stuff used for tiffany work.
