The copper is so beautiful! You have really found a technique with potential here! And I guess you are glad you have changed from the tar-and-acid-bath materials for now :-) Etching is definitely on my list of things to master! Turns out my husband is somewhat of a pro — he does circuit boards (electronics) now and then — I’d forgotten! And we have the ferric chloride — I could start any day…if I had the time. He told me that essentially you could use any acid, like citric acid from the food market, just heat and agitate long enough. And make patterns with anything that doesn’t dissolve in water, like nail varnish, or shellac (dissolves in spirit). Maybe glue stickers?? Have to try, soon…

Thanks so much for the lovely comments. Etching creates such great components to work with that you really don’t need to add much else. Love the fact that I can either draw a design with a sharpie pen or easier still, just use a rubber stamp. And while you do need to heed safety precautions with the ferric chloride, it’s much less hazardous than some other acids.
