Goodies from Julie

About this design:

Julie Shane was so kind to share some of her polymer clay pieces she made. I just love that they look like ceramic and have such pretty designs and colors. I hope I did them justice. The last 2 pics are of the cool twisted drops and I couldn't decide on a design, so I made 2! Please give me your suggestions on how I can improve on either of those to finalize the set. Thanks!

Components:

Handmade polymer clay pieces from Julie Shane, African Jade, Feldspath, web jasper Czech glass, Toho seed beads, 20 & 22 gauge wire (copper, Vintaj, SP).

Beautiful earrings…Julie does nice work with the polymer clay! On the last two they both have details that I like…I like the top on the first one and I like the dangle on the second..can you combine the two details?

Lordy Lord. They’re all lovely! I’m especially wowed by the cute little wrap with the seed beads over the twisted bead. It’s very unique. Of course, the silver/clear/blue pair knock me out. No suggestions here Angela..I’m not worthy.

I bet Julie is doing a happy dance if she could see what amazing things you’ve done with her PC beads. Love them all! Those copper ear wires are the bomb!

They are all so gorgeous Angela, I know Julie will be proud! Love your wire wrapping on the green ones with the seed bead rings! The colors you chose to go with the cream ones is perfect! The last set I like either way, but I’m leaning towards the wrapped seed bead one more so!

Oh my gosh Angela! My heart is racing and I’m speechless!!! It is AMAZING to see what you have done with these pieces.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the green! I sent them all to you, so I guess I’ll be making more. These are my favorites. I like the simplicity of the poly bead and your choice of stones make it POP. I really like the tiny detail of the 3 seed beads. :)

The blue earrings are lovely. The sparkly crystals make them more dressed up.

WOW! What can I say. I made the twists on a whim with some odds-and-ends of clay. They didn’t “do” much for me. I am SO impressed with your designs. I like the dangles, but I am CRAZY about the wraps and rondelles in the first design. I’m going to “steal” that idea from you. HA HA!!!

Gorgeous! I love the green ones in the first, but they are all so lovely. You definitly did Julies beautiful beads justice.

I absolutely love the first ones … LOL; sorry about the other 2; the 2nd ones could be improved, but there’s no hope for those twists. Now, that’s MY opinion; don’t let it bother you.
I really LOVE the first ones, the colors, the round discs with the designs. I like the colors of the second and third ones and I like the rectangles of the 2nd ones, but those twists …

  11. SYD Sydney H
    SYD Sydney H says:

the 2nd ones could be improved with something hanging from the top too; either one large-ish bead or several smaller ones – in a cascade.

I love the green and white ones up top! :D The green and white beads complement the PC beads beautifully in shape and color and I love the copper wire placed over them!

IMHO, the others might benefit from adding contrast in color, shape, or size… Actually, I think I like the second ones too, it is only that they get a bit lost in the setting and would stand out better against a black backdrop for instance. More importantly, however, I think they would be lovely to wear! :D

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the first pair is my fave, then the third one with the seed beads, I just love this technique, you made Julie proud :D

Just fabulous Angela ! Love the idea of the seed beads on the jump rings (am definitely going to steal that one). Also love the effect of the dangles on the last pair – - no improvements needed to any of these !

Thank you all so much, I really appreciate and value all of your opinions! Especially “Thank You!” to Julie, for all your lovely pieces!
I can see the green ones are a big hit, but I actually favor the blue ones. Erin, you’re right that I need to photograph them with a darker background. I wish I could capture all the little sparkles of the glitter Julie added to these. That’s what inspired me to “bling” them up with the blue crystals.

Each one of these is wonderful! The designs, and the PC beads! You brought out the essence of the beads, for sure.

Yes, after looking at it further, I realized that the blue ones were just as lovely and actually the ones that I would most love to wear. :)

    Gail Layne says:

Ok, so when I saw the green ones on the main page my first thought was ‘ I want those!’ But when I saw the twists I totally forgot the green ones! I really love the first twist design and would wear a pair like that all the time!

  22. Gail Layne
    Gail Layne says:

If you’d prefer to combine the designs, what about a small dangle with just a small cream (?) Czech bead?

  23. SquirrelGirl aka Angela
    SquirrelGirl aka Angela says:

Thanks again so much! I love to hear all your thoughts. I like your idea Gail of adding a dmall dangle to the first? I have a cream colored 3mm Czech glass faceted bead that would go perfect with the color in the twist. Hmmm. I may have to revise and post the update. Thanks for the suggestion!

Granny Nancy, these all measure 2 1/2 inches from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the dangle with the exception of the 3rd picture with the wirewrapped seed beads on the top, that one is 3 inches long.

Julie is making more as we speak, and I can’t wait to see what she creates! :)

Perfect–BOTH of you ladies! I like them all as is but especially the green ones and the blue ones. The twists are very cool and I love the ideas, it’s only the color I would have no reason to wear. Otherwise they are ALL FABULOUS!
