Bead Day!

About this design:

So yesterday I finally got to do a Bead Day with my seven-year-old niece. We've only been attempting to get together since Thanksgiving, but weather and schedules got in the way. I took her to Von's to do a little shopping, then to my parents' (the only local place we could work; I live an hour and a half away). My sister joined us and braided hemp necklace repairs while I worked with Aubrey on three pieces of jewelry. I only got to do one of my own (first picture) and part of a wirework bracelet. Aubrey wanted me to photograph her "Easter egg" bracelet on a floral plaque my Mom has, so I did. I think she had a great time. She's already asking when we can do it again!

Components:

metallic gray-blue freshwater pearls, faceted glass rondelles, brass findings, gold findings, crystal pendant, seed beads, pony beads, manmade egg beads

What could be better than “hiding” you Easter eggs among the flowers? Just by looking at what she made I’d say your niece had a great day. Fun beads + fun colors = Lots of FUN! :D

I love “your” piece. I am particularly fond of monochromatic pieces when various types of beads with different textures are used. Very interesting but also very pretty.

I agree with Nancy – love the single color with beads of different materials and textures – beautiful piece!
    And sounds like fun! :D

Wow! Your niece has quite an eye for color! Love the egg bracelet on the flower tray idea! Love your cool blues, reminds me of a sparkling spring. Sounds like a wonderfully fun day!
