I knew this was one of your designs, Julia. You have this technique down pat and everything you make is so beautifully done. Great color, great style. :)

Julia, all of your projects are beautiful and greatly inspire me. This one is fantastic–love the neutral colors and how the front really pops! What size/shape kumihimo disc do you use–what is the difference between the round and square disc? This looks very hard–maybe a challenge worthy of pursuit! :)

Thank You all so very much!! :) Crystal, I use mostly 4.5 ” diameter round disk. On this one I used beads:
Silky Gold (matte) Rice Droplet 3×6.5mm Seed Bead
    Item 30683 – Unit: 23 Gram Tube (1)

TOHO Rosaline (with Frosted Silver Lining) Round 8/0 Seed Bead
    Item 11540 – Unit: 2.5″ tube (2)

I tried a square before and I could not work with the beads with it so I gave up :)

Julia, Thanks so much for the info!! I think I’ll order the disc–but I’ll probably have to get some books on how to do this technique with beads. :)

Oh, I forgot to ask, do you also use those huggy spools to hold all your strands? If so, I should get some of those too! :)

Yes, Crystal, you should …:)You need eight :)

Julia, maybe my problem is that I use a square disk. I will try the round one, but what is the difference with the beads on a square disk?

This is lovely. I am inspired by your piece to try beaded kumihimo.
