Test Run

About this design:

Finally I've found some time and energy to post again! I've been both a bit ill, and so incredibly busy. Here follows "what I've learned the last month" :-). First out: after the first weekend of the metal class I went to, I was incredibly eager to test my new skills at home, to see what materials and tools I needed to get. I dived headlong into some fusing, resulting in this rather messy thing (I'll keep this, the affection value is high, and it is a bit too odd to sell, LOL!)
Started out with the copper pendant, which I sawed from a sheet, as an idle practice run while waiting for something at the class. Took it home. Brain totally on overdrive after the class, couldn't sleep: started reading a gardening magazine to try to think of something else: well, you see the result!
Experimented with fusing snips of silver wire onto the copper(different flowers on both sides). The loops were a mistake, clearly, should have bored holes. Made the clasp from heavier gauge (2 mm) sterling silver, wrapped with 26 gauge copper which I fused to it. (The happiness of making one's own clasp!!) The ceramic bead was a misery one from a bunch I've been doing on and off at my mums pottery. Tested fusing copper wire onto it (since it was so ugly anyway), and some of it stuck... The blobby headpin farthest down, made that too from melted sterling, very odd but it works...

Components:

Copper sheet, sterling silver wire, copper wire, ceramic bead (own), seed beads (from stash), white howlite.
