Brass and Bones #2

About this design:

Several weeks ago I made a brass and bone necklace using larger discs. I decided to make another one with smaller discs and bone beads with more random patterns. I gave the discs a patina with the torch and then textured them. Because the discs were smaller I decided to use beads with each disc as well as spacers on the neck ring. This version is a bit more dainty if you can call discs and bones dainty. I still need to make some ear rings but I'm not sure if I can find similar bone beads.

The third picture is of the original bone and bead necklace.

Components:

12 gauge brass wire, brass discs, bone beads, wood beads

You are so creative with the wire & metal. I like the addition of the ‘random’ bone beads.

Thanks for all of the compliments and comments everyone. They look real good on the neck…. I need to find a duty neck for to use in photographs.

Thanks for the info SYD. I did a quick check on that site yesterday and did find some bones that might work. We’ll see.

Monica, I’ve given up using the 12ga brass wire for cuffs and only use it for neck rings now. It is dead soft but dead soft brass is still very stiff..

Love this look, Nancy! The texture, finish on the discs is wonderfully organic.

Ooooh.these are very classy, and so “what’s happenin now.” :) You’re spot on about dead soft brass. I got some by mistake and whoa Nellie!! Live and learn.
Must admit that I’ve always loved the collar look.

These are such a classic look. Beautiful work. Brass is really hard to work.
