Necklace or bracelet?

About this design:

This started out as a necklace and is un finished. Which I'm not sure about now. Not sure if I like the pendant hanging from a jump ring only. I have a hard time putting together necklaces so thought maybe a double strand bracelet. Comments would be appreciated.

I added to pics of my foster kit kats. Monte & Bella

Components:

peanut seed beads, copper findings, Rhyolite - octagon shape(?), copper flower , aquamarine beads. LB (which I cannot remember the name of )

What absolutely darling kittens ! Looks to me like the pendant is a little big for the necklace, but I love your idea for a double-wrap bracelet. Really pretty beads from what I can see in the photos.

Peggy, I love what you have started here. The colors are so pretty together. Maybe adding a double chain or leather cord and put the pendant on that and make it a multi-strand necklace.

Now – what I would do – forget the pendant, use one of those multi-colored redd-ish beads as a pendant with a 6mm jump ring with either leather strings or linen or both and mabe with some of those small seed beads on them. I like the colors very much – but that pendant has got to go – LOL

P.S.- and hang the new pendant from 2 or 3 6mm jump rings or one large one, so it isn’t, like you say, right up against the necklace

I love all the colors and textures together! I’m with Val and make a double stranded necklace with leather or suede to compliment the beads. You could make your own wire wrapped bail instead of using jump rings.

I think the multi strand idea with one strand being more substantial (like leather) would balance the size and presence (weight) of the LR pendant. The kittens, however, are perfect as is. :)

Thank you all for your comments and input. I would have never thunk’ of a multi strand with leather or chain. brilliant :)

Becky – the kitties are pretty perfect . Only a couple more weeks until they are ready for adoption. I’m going to miss them

I vote for necklace. The pendant’s pretty big as a dangle on a bracelet unless you want to make a wide leather cuff. The stones you’ve picked are lovely though somewhat delicate. Chunkier elements like chain or leather would add balance.

Love the pendant, voting for necklace as well, but the kitties are stealing the show, how adorable :D

I love the pendant too! I vote for a necklace also and dido Laud’s comment about adding chunkier elements. Your kitties are adorable :)

If you put the darker colored rhyolite nuggets nearer to the pendant, it would look more balanced. Also if you had a couple of weightier elements – like smaller pendants in the mix – or on another strand, it would be more balanced. I love the color mix though – very unusual!

Beautiful colors! You could do a beautiful wrap bracelet with what you have minus the pendant but a multi-strand necklace like the others have suggested with heavier elements and leather would be awesome!

I agree with everyone. Necklace. Multi-strand. Great colors.
I made a piece with the big heart from Lipstick Ranch. Same dilemma. I ended up with the pendant from the main strand and then a longer but smaller strand “below” it for a frame. Maybe that will work for you. Don’t give up on the focal pendant… it’s too much fun!

Oh! LOVE the kits. I want them! Don’t think baby Darcy is ready for little ones yet. At 1 year and 1 week, she is still too self-absorbed! :)

I love your design and colors so far and I too vote for necklace. I like the idea of the multi strand with leather or chain but my first thought was to use the LB silk ribbon to add softness to the iron pendant and still give a substantial presence to the more delicate strand you’ve already made. Just a thought.

I love the colors and I would go with the necklace with the silk ribbon.
