A Run with Resin

About this design:

So here is my first attempt at Resin! It was pretty easy, a bit messy, but overall I think it went pretty good : ) I cut prices of fabric that I had laying around then I filled some bronze colored ornate bezels with the resin. The last photo is the other three pendants I made. I think they came out pretty good (for my first try at least!) but final bracelet was a bit of a pain stringing all those seed beads.
: P so what do you guys think? : )

Components:

Pendants made from ornate bronze bezels with fabric pieces and resin, lavender ab seed beads, bronze filigree cones,Czech bellflowers and bronze floral toggle.

Another fantastic piece, Jet! Love your focal and the color of seed beads you chose to go with it! Are the focal little cross stitched pieces?

Thank you guys! Such lovely comments. Especially Celia! Such a nice r detailed compliment, really makes me smile!
Wanda- thank you for the compliment! The focals are bronze bezels that I placed a little cut out of pretty fabric and then filled with resin. It would be pretty cool if they were little cross stitch pieces!

Love it. What kind of resin did you use? the one that cures with uv light?

Peggy, the resin I used was just this cheap stuff from the craft store that does not need to cure with LV light, it cures on its own, with no help! It’s a 2 part appoxy that cures by a chemical reaction when the hardener is added to the resin. Once you mix it up it has about a 25 minute Window in which you have to quick fill whatever your working with before it starts to harden and it cannot be poured anymore. It’s pretty inexpensive, can be easily found at Joanne or Michael’s and is very easy to use. The only draw back is its a little messy and not the easiest to get off your hands or table or clothes, so I recommend an old t – shirt and maybe some nail polish remover : )

Wow, Jet! These are awesome! Love the design of the bracelet, the bezel and cones really give it an antique look and I really like how you incorporated the toggle into the design! I had to look twice to find the closure. Your resin work looks fantastic as well and I adore the cute retro-y fabric! The dragonfly is fantastic and I’m really not a dragonfly fan!
