Dancing In The Dark

About this design:

I found these great dark shimmery MOP sticks and knew I wanted to use them with the dark peacock dancing pearls. I have not decided for sure whether to keep it or sell it. I love the play of irridescent purples and blues across the deep gray tones.

Components:

MOP sticks, top-drilled dark peacock oval pearls, czech AB crystal beads, silver plated toggle with swarovski crystals, silver plated crimps, and (.015) 49 strand beading wire.

So pretty, Harriet! I love the way it shimmers!
    I certainly understand your dilema!

    Thank you, Jeanne. :D
It’s always a decision whether to keep a favorite creation …or sell it so we can buy more beads! LOL

This reminds me of a piece I made a few months back. It goes with so many things. I hope you enjoy this necklace as much as I have enjoyed mine. :)

Thanks, KH. I made this one a while back, for our show.

Soooo, did you decide to keep yours? ;)

Harriet, I love this – very Island tribal effect. The colors are wonderful! I think you should keep it… :D

So far it has stayed in my possession – but Mom has not see it in person and she does a lot of her gift shopping from my stash.

I have not done a show yet – heretofore it has mainly been therapy to recovery from my day job – I make pieces for myself and as gifts for family and friends. I occasionally do a commissioned piece and sometimes I sell something “from the neck and the ears”.

Did you order some of the great beads from your POD??

KH, I looked back and found 2 designs you did with real stick pearls. Were those the ones you meant? I liked both of those. :D

Harriet, I have used stick and blister pearls in several pieces, but I was thinking of the one called Tawney Port – it had dark purple blister pearls and purple crystals. I made a necklace from gold stick pearls and bronze pearls with green, orange and lavender crystals, which I plan to give to Mom for Christmas. (I will probably give it early so that she can wear it to holiday functions). I also did a piece with double drilled stick and arrangege them as a staircase.

This is lovely Harriet, those dancing pearls go really well with the stick pearls :D

I love this Harriet. Do people buy things from your neck and ears? If so, I would keep it and wear it and if someone wants to buy it off of you, sell it to them. You know they really like it if they want to buy it. Then, you can buy more beads and make another.

Bead Greed pretty well sums up the dilemma most of us face, Sali Jo. I love the design you have made, Harriet. I’ve never worked with MOP sticks…..something new to try? So many beads so little time.

Thank you all for the comments and compliments!
You have been very kind, and very funny too. ;)
When I found these MOP sticks, I liked the color and thought they would be a very economical alternative to the stick pearls. Then, I sort of fell in love with the end product. LOL
