About this design:
My 2nd show ever. Any suggestions on how to do something besides my monster bulletin board? Also, alot of items are similar. I tried to group by eye appeal, but do you think it should be like items together? You ladies are wonderful for feedback!

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Thanks for sharing Lucinda!
I’m always looking for suggestions in booth displays too.
Only a suggestion; I prefer mixing it up a bit.
Like the small black display in front of your bullitin board, I like the way you have alternate designs placed on it…. shorter design, then a longer one etc… On your big board there a many of similar design and I find it a bit more difficult to have my eye drawn to each piece.
Does that make any sense?
I really like your display on the other table with busts of your necklaces! Maybe you could continue on that theme?
Keep working on it! You’ll figure it out. Your pieces are beautiful! I love all your crosses!

fishprincessdesigns says:Nice set-up for your second try!I also used a cork board for my necklaces-try spray painting your cork board to match the rest of your display-it will give it less of the “cork board” look. Also the tallest riser on your other table-does it put the jewelry out of easy reach for your customers?-I might bring it down a little. I do really like the black-makes your things show really well.

Heartfelt By Lucinda says:Question: If I have several of very similar items, like 6 or 7 hearts- should I put them all out or just two or three for show? I don’t want to overwhelm the customer.

Nicki - Taylored Designs says:I found some vintage mirrored perfume trays at a local antique store that were VERY affordable. The trim on the trays is filigree, so I looped some matching ribbon through the filigree and hung my jewelry on the ribbon. The jewelry looks amazing on a mirrored tray!! I received so much positive feedback on my display. Another tip that someone gave me was to add 1 or 2 lamps on your table, assuming they allow electricity…..people always tend to head towards the brighter tables.
Your set up is beautiful by the way…great job!!

Heartfelt By Lucinda says:Thank you so much for those cool ideas and the compliment. I had one clip on light, but it glared, so I think I will take two buffet lamps with bright bulbs with me for the next show.

M mccallister mrs chick says:lucinda i use a bulletin board as well when i do my shows. i purchased fabric large enough to cover the corkboard part of it-i just used a butter knife to press the edges of the fabric within the frame. i change the fabric to match the style, event, or just what looks well with new pieces. at the fabric store i always ask to look at the bolt end pieces which are always at a great price. you are have a nice display to just be starting up!!! best of luck to you

Kitty D says:Hi Lucinda, your jewellery looks great!i love the vibrant colours so it looks great against black, maybe just plain black would be better than the stripes, it just drew my eye naturally to the background first. i think if you group items together it would be better than scattering them about, people like the display to be as simple and self explainable as possible.hope that helps a little, good work!

ANGELON says:I HAVE BEEN THINKING OF WAYS TO PUT OUT MY JEWELRY I HAVE TONS MADE TO DEMO HOWEVER THY DO NOT ALL FIT ON THE TABLE I WENT TO JOB LOT,WALKED AROUND AND JUST KEPT LOOKING ,I FOUND A 2 SHELF EXPANDING SHOE RACK. I BOUGHT 3 OF THEM AND NOW I FIT MOST OF MY NECKLACES ON. AND I DRESS IT UP ON A BLCK TABLE CLOTH AND SOME PRETTY FLOWERS IT REALLY LOOKS NICE. I HAVE HAD PEOPLE TELL ME I HAVE A GREAT PRESENTATION ON MY JEWELRY.

Happy Chick aka Harriet says:I like the multi-level display, but agree that less background pattern is better. If it is fairly easy to do, you might try staggering the hanging display so that they are not in a straight line across the top. That might help people see the individual pieces a little better, than in a very linear display. The eye needs a place to rest, and too many pieces- no matter how lovely- all in one line gets overwhelming.

Heartfelt By Lucinda says:I plan to show less repetition in my pieces. I also ordered more bust stands and a pretty over the sink shelf to layer. I have decided to lose the bulletin board. It is big and awkward and by not showing everything at once, I don’t need the space. I bought a cute little sleigh for business cards and a red bucket with a santa belt around it to put peppermints in. I am also going to use my two buffet lamps, tall, slender and pretty and I can use the brighter new kinds of light bulbs that dont get hot, so I can not burn my lampshades. I want my tables to look bright and pretty. I also ordered risers to raise the tale height by 6 inches. I was told that can help sales. Can’t hurt! I have 3 more shows b4 Christmas plus my daughters middle school teacher’s lounge tomorrow. Pray for me!
