Blue Lace Druzy

About this design:

I bouught this blue lace druzy some time ago with a different design in mind. Yesterday I discovered that I had just enough silver wire left from the coral piece to made a sweet little curley bail. Then I made a double strand of blue lace coins, fresh water pearls and denim colored glass beads.

Additional Images:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1:
Cut 4 pieces of wire - 3 should be the same length, the 4th is up to you. Slip the three strands of wire thrugh the :druzy hole: and bent them to form a loop with six long ends. Use the 4th piece of wire to wrap, securing the bail. Take your round nose pliers and curl the end of each wire from the tip inward. Each end of wire should look like a strand of curly-tie ribbon. Gently "smush" the bow into place at the top of the pendant. Use flat pliers to gently shape the bail so that it hangs to your liking.

Thanks LRC – My original plan involved shoving the druzy onto a headpin – now the thought of doing that makes me shudder!!! :)

This is really pretty! What a fabulous piece of blue lace agate! This gemstone is going to get even pricier now that it has become hard to find good rough! Sad because it is such a desirable gemstone.

This is so lovely, K H! I think you did a great job with the design – so much better than sticking a headpin on that druzy!
