I just love chainmail! I especially love the sparkle of these Swavorski crystals.

Components:

gunmetal chain, jump rings, pewter clasp, & Swavorski crystal pendants.

Thank you so much, friends! It’s not the first piece of chainmail I’ve done, but probably the easiest due to the large jump rings. It took about 3 hours start to finish. I’ve done a couple of other things that required a lot more time and jump rings. I say, go for it!

Is it difficult to keep track of where you are in the creating process? I can imagine myself rolling this piece around in my hands while attaching all the jump rings and trying to remember which section I need to be working on.
(If that made any sence!)

I took a class in it and had a diagram to follow. The class handout was excellent! It helps to close ALL the small jump rings before beginning. It’s also helpful to put on the first dangle at the bottom because it helps you keep your place. I always start at the bottom and build up. It’s also helpful to lay out all the large rings as shown in the diagram.

Debra, this is stunning! I’ve been thinking of doing the triangle chainmaille – what size jump rings did you use? I was thinking of laying out the larger jump rings and connecting the smaller ones between them – would that be more difficult than the way you describe?
