Left Overs

About this design:

I had the pendant for a while and I just could not come up with a design so I started looking through some of old beads and I tried to match the colors of the pendant and this is what I came up with.

Components:

Tigers eye, Bronzite, glass beads and the pendant is made out of wood.

Looks like a 5-course Zagat rated meal to me! Love the warm colors and complex texture.

Shani, I hope you will participate in the orphan bead swap we’ve been discussing–looks like you have a special talent for odds and ends. :)

I agree with KH leftovers make you think outside of the box and it inspire you to come up with something different.

Dok. Thank you for the great comment and I would love to be a part of your Orphan program.

Lynn, Fashion Chick and Sali Jo Thank You so much. Sali Jo I kept second guessing myself with the combination of the Bronzite and the Tigers eye when it was finished I was satisfied.

When I first saw this I thought the pendant was Bronzite. I’ve used two similar wood pendants and they’re patterns and coloring are very pretty, but I never thought of these combinations… it’s a beautiful necklace!

What a wonderful use of “left overs”, Shani! This is absolutely gorgeous, and, like Lynn and Dora, I would never have guessed that the pendant was wood. Just goes to show what thinking outside the box can inspire! :D

I really admire people who combine semi-precious stones with wood. I’ve seen many wonderful designs, and yours is kind of the epitome. What was a wonderful surprise was when I looked at the enlarged view and saw the vermeil spacers. They are a beautiful accent to the other beads Very beautiful ~ Linda

Beautiful creation. Goes to show there is not much out there that is not able to be made into something wonderful. It just takes more time and thought to have it all come together.
