About this design:
This is one of those very simple necklaces (sorry, no studs) that is an absolute staple in any lady's jewelry box! :) Instead of knotting the pearls, I put them on beading wire - so far so good. :D

Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Very Pretty!!! and very feminine!
I gave similar necklaces to 2 nieces when they graduated from high school. Both wore them to graduation, and now have a pretty reminder of a special day. I agree that a lady should have a nice strand of pearls in her jewelry.

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:This is an amazing strand of pearls!! The quality of them looks almost perfect!! Gorgeous!!
Are they from LB?!!

Linda Talbott says:I agree with Mary’s comment that the pearls look perfect! It is quite beautiful, and I believe that sometimes beauty in simplicity, letting the beads speak for themselves is best (of course, not that I don’t also like mixing things up.) Best ~ Linda

Nicki - Taylored Designs says:Wow, beautiful! They almost look like glass pearls because they’re shape is so beautiful!! Are those round or semi round?? Gorgeous!

therainmaker says:Thank you, everyone! Sometimes simplicity is the best.
I got the pearls at firemountaingems.com . They’ve got a good selection and great prices. Nicki, these cultured freshwater pearls are actually defined as C/C- grade potatoes! But they certainly don’t look like it! lol!

Nicki - Taylored Designs says:I shop firemountain ALOT!! You can get a great deal on pearls from them. I have to say though, I absolutely fell in love with the pearls from Lima…..they are stunning, if you haven’t seen them in person. I gave a strand to my mother in law, who never orders from online, and she thought they were the most beautiful pearls she had ever seen.

therainmaker says:Same here, Nicki!! Yes you can! That is why I haven’t tried Lima’s yet! LOL! Maybe I should try some, sounds like ya’ll love them!

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Rainmaker, I most definitely love LB’s pearls!! They’re consistantly smooth and have good luster. Give them a try, I think you’ll love them too!!

Nicki - Taylored Designs says:Funny thing happened yesterday after I saw your strand of pearls…..my husband sells my jewelry at his work, and work of his coworkers approached him about a simple strand of pearls for his wife. Lucky for me I had a beautiful strand from Lima! After making it I realized that I’ve been so focused on mixing colors, textures, etc. in one design, I’ve forgotten how absolutely stunning a simple strand of the same bead can be. Have you ever used those tiny little clear rubber bumpers to put in between pearls when stringing them on 7 or 49 strand? I remember seeing them somewhere, but have never used them. Just curious about them if anyone here has used them.

K H says:Nicki, I like to space my pearls with seed beads – the smaller seeds give just a hint of color and sparkle between the pearls – the larger ones give a real punch of color.

Purple Chick aka Violet says:This is simply ELEGANT !!!!!!! Pearls are one of my passions and the pearls at LB are some of the best !!!!! You must try them !!
On Dec 17, 2009 at 2:28 pm #
therainmaker says:I guess I’m going to give LB’s pearls a try! Nicki, that’s so true. No, I’ve never tried those clear rubber bumpers… KH, that’s a great idea, maybe I should try that with those LB pearls…

therainmaker says:Thanks Purple Chick! I’ve definitely made up my mind to try Lb’s pearls!

Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:The simplicity of this is stunning!
I never used to be a big fan of pearls, but after getting some here, I’m a convert. I like to mix them with czech glass or swarovski’s. There very popular at work.
I love the peacock color, the pearly whites are gorgeous too! And I just strung berry with moonstone rondelles and daisies.

therainmaker says:Thank you, Gem Chick! I’m going to try some of LB’s pearls.
Berry and moonstone… mmmm.
I also used some of these pearls with blue lace agate? and lapidalite jasper. I’ve got to get it on here some time…

Tres Chick says:Nicki, I haven’t tried the little clear rings yet, but they do look like the coolest. firemountain sells two brands of them: one is called Oh! Rings; the other name I don’t remember.
