Crazy about Chalcedony

About this design:

The LB description for Chalcedony says that it goes well with FWP...and it's right. I just love these two together even though the design is so simple.

Components:

Chalcedony, FWP, silver spaces, & ss clasp

Lovely design have you thought of using chain to finish your peice..you really can save alot of beads especially spendy ones…I’m a lover of chalcedondy any color but this blue is fab with the pearls also!

This is beautiful. So soft and femine. I love this combination. Looks expensive.

Lee, this is simple and elegant! Sometimes simple is better — it lets the gems do the talking! I love your design and the color of the chalcedony is wonderful!!! :D

Deb, I love your term “spendy” for expensive beads! :D

Depends I think if you want to cut cost or have a gorgeous piece. Chain is cheaper so goes the piece. Less money invested less profit comes back. I think I would just prefer to wear the pearls. I like money period, (that’s why I don’t have any I spend it all)
    ROTFLOL.
On that note I am going to bed see everybody tomorrow.
Happy New Year all!! Chicky Hugs!!

If you use good chain, such as sterling silver, you will still have big bucks invested in your piece, so no savings there. I would just as soon have the gems in this necklace. Some designs, though, do lend themselves well to subbing chain (copper, brass) that is less expensive.

Thank you for the comments/suggestions, ladies. I considered using chain but I felt like the beads really wanted to be on their own. :) And because I bought them from the Big Green Bead Machine, I got a good price for them.

Dear Lee ~ this is beautiful. The fwp really seem to wrap the Chalcedony in a cradle of light. Sometimes simple is better, and this is an example. Into my faves!

This is just lovely. The strand of chalcedony has awesome color and depth. It’s great we can get discounted beads from Lima – and know they are going to be great quality.

Deb, I love it that we can feel free to make & ask for suggestions here in the Gallery and know that they’ll be taken in the spirit in which they were given! I’ve learned so much from the other wonderful beaders here, whether from asking questions myself or from reading tips such as the one you suggested. :D

Good morning all still loving this necklace. I am glad you got a good price on the beads. I seem to miss all those. Didn’t mean to offend anyone with my comment yesterday. Sorry if I did. I just really liked this piece. I would be too tempted to keep it for myself even if I sold my jewelry. I am loving the pearls with the chalcedony blue.
It is so calming and beautiful. Just simple elegance. Chicky hugs to all this New Years Day.
