About this design:
I designed this in response to a BeadStyle challenge--go to your jewelry box and make something new from items you don't/can't wear. I rediscovered by great-grandfather's watch chain and fob and a half strand of my grandmother's necklace of bakelite beads. This is the result (and it was one of four semi-finalists, perhaps you saw it in BeadStyle last summer?).
Components:
Hypersthene cross, copper beads, Vintaj "Love" circle for the toggle ring, copper wire, Vintaj brass chain, copper wire. Plus the "found" components: watch chain that provides the toggle bar, watch fob and black bakelite beads.Read the comments (or add your own)

Science Chick Runs Sibes says:Thanks for all your compliments.
Linda–this is definitely staying in the family. My two nieces will get to “fight” over who gets it.
Ravin–we are all our own worst critics. Your “For the Heart” design shows creativity and that was a challenge to turn out a neat design working with “left-overs.” I am so glad you are among us in The Garden.
Found designs can be a lot of fun. I look at garage sales in a whole new light. Plus, some of my customers who knew about this design, plucked up the courage to bring me things that “Well, needs repair and I just don’t think I can wear it as it originally was.” We had great fun redesigning with their components.

Linda Talbott says:I really love this piece. I am very drawn to the wonderful assymetry, where the side with the chain balances out the side with the beads. The chain wrapped pendant is beautiful … don’t think I’ve ever seen this before. Into my faves!

Vampire Chickie Ravin says:Thanks so much Runs with Sibes, I guess my problem is that I lack confidence, not really sure. I just know that I love to make jewelry, I hope to just keep getting better at it, lol.
