The Dud says:Susan, I love the combination of stones and colors. Also, my favorite Joni Mitchell song!

doktordesigns says:Thanks, TD. Whenever I do something that doesn’t feel quite like “me,” I am ambivalent — but I do want to keep experimenting. I’m not sure how I feel about the piece yet, but it’s a lovely song.

Pam says:Love the combination of stones! Beautiful and into my favs.

Dragons Chicky says:I like this very much Susan. It’s a bit outside of your comfort zone I think but,I find it is a wonderful piece full of tones and vibrations!
You are so very talented, be free! Believe me, someone will tell you if you’ve gone totally whacky!!

KittyMom Linda says:Totally gorgeous. The colors are so peaceful and pleasing. Sometimes we need to step out of our comfort zone just to see what it feels like. It’s a totally beautiful piece, and a good picture too. I take loads of pics with my I-Phone and they are usually pretty good. FAVE, a definite FAVE

grama rose aka stormy says:Wow this is awesome I love this style as you probably know it is so in and lovely..It looks blue on the picture but I’m guessing with the beads you have in there there is some darker shades…Into my faves!!!

Harmony on Strings says:I like this a lot. Aren’t those graduated fans great, they lend themselves to so many design possibilities.
On Feb 21, 2010 at 3:57 pm #
doktordesigns says:Thanks everyone.
@ Stormy: Yes, the photo looks a little bluer than it should — the quartz rounds are more of a warm grey, with occasional reddish flecks, too.
@ Harmony: The fan sets are cool. But I feel a little like I’m cheating when I use them, because a significant part of the design is already determined. Kinda like baking cake from a mix.
On Feb 21, 2010 at 4:09 pm #
Little Round Chick says:Susan, just because the cake comes from a mix doesn’t mean you can’t “embellish” it a bit.
Same with the fans. If you gave 5 jewelry artists the same fan you would get 5 completely different designs that only have one group of beads in common. Personally I think real creativity is taking the mundane and making it spectacular….just like you did with this necklace. Fans are just another group of beads.
Sorry. Didn’t mean to get preachy….mia culpa…
