About this design:
The pendant I found in a Beadshop while on vacation in Wilmington, NC. Had it for over a year trying to figure out how I wanted to use it. Took if with me when I went back to my hometown of Binghamton, NY last summer for a wedding. Found a beadshop there where I picked up the Green Tourmalized Quartz, the Peridot and the copper accents. Hence the name East Coast Travler.
Components:
Green Turquoise Pendant, Peridot rounds, Green Tourmilated Quartz nuggets, copper bead caps and misc copper bead accents.Read the comments (or add your own)

Bead-itudes says:Thank you Jade. I’m trying to get in the spring mood.

KittyMom Linda says:I love hearing the stories of our beads. This is exceptionally pretty. I keep forgetting to use by focal beads sideways. My beads traveled a bit too. I take special ones when traveling just in case I hit on a bead shop somewhere. It’s fun to find beads while away. Makes it fun to remember our vacations and such.

Jade aka Caryn says:I have a lot of pieces that color and my wardrobe matches. I wish I had a lot of beads. I buy as I go so I don’t have a very big stash to choose from.

Faithful Chick aka Faith says:This is a beautiful necklace. Oh I like this one a whole bunches. This looks like maybe a necklace for the Katie lady who is looking for something to go with her emerald, nope her opal, nope the kitchen sink. (Did that saga get a good ending yet? I had a nap and you miss so much when you leave here LOL)
On Feb 24, 2010 at 8:56 pm #
KittyMom Linda says:I think you could nap as long as Rip Van Winkle and still not get to the end of the Emerald Lady story.

Bead-itudes says:Thank you Linda. Yes I’ve been keeping up with your beading travels. Seems you got quite a haul while you were in Florida. That’s something we have in common. I always take beads with me on vacation. It’s something I like to do in the evenings after exploring whereever I am all day. I’ve been known to take pendants and such with me in the hopes of finding something to go with them that I haven’t been able to find locally or on line.

Bead-itudes says:Thank you Faith – glad you like it.
Ha HA. I was following that story line to. Forgot about it till you brought it up. Wonder how things are going? If I remember she was going to have a meeting with the lady. Wonder how that went?

Bead-itudes says:Jade it does take time to build up a stash. Once you get the beading bug though – you find yourself looking for them whereever you go.

Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:Hi Ladies,
Bead-itudes – I love this. the green tourmalated quartz is a favorite of mine. And the pendant is lovely with the bead caps.
I love to collect beads on my trips. my lucky swap buddy just might get a few from places far.
As far as Katie – the story continues. But now she’s even laughing at herself. She sent me some round mother of pearl – looks like 12-14mm. not sure what I’ll do with it yet. I’ll post a photo on the fresh pick when I get a chance.
On Feb 24, 2010 at 9:41 pm #
Bead-itudes says:Thank you for the compliment Gem Chick.
We will all be waiting for the continuing saga of Katie.

Vampire Chickie Ravin says:Awesome piece!! OMG! You’re originally from Binghamton??? I used to work at Binghamton Castle, did stage make-up ans was one of the Vampires in there!!! Too cool! I lived in Middletown at the time…gawd…so long ago…do they even still do the Binghamton Castle thing anymore??
On Feb 24, 2010 at 10:07 pm #
Bead-itudes says:Thanks Ravin – glad you like the piece.
Don’t know about the Binghamton Castle thing. I’ve lived in Charlotte, NC for 22 years now. Just go back to Binghamton every couple years to see friends and family.
Pretty cool – most people have no idea where Binghamton even is. Trully a small world.
On Feb 24, 2010 at 10:11 pm #
Vampire Chickie Ravin says:No doubt! And ironic that you’re in N.C. and I’m in S.C. LOL, hows that for a trip!!

Bead-itudes says:Seriously…what a hoot.

Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:This is really stunning – I love the larger beads separated by tiny beads, which in most work seems to be seed beads – but I much prefer the stones! Great design!

grama rose aka stormy says:pretty very pretty..
On Feb 25, 2010 at 12:40 pm #
Bead-itudes says:Thank you Sue – glad you like the Peridot. Although I must say they are so tiny it was hard stringing them – had to get my magnifier out so I could find the wholes.
Thank you Stormy, MamaKat, Frida, FaeryGoth and Violet, for your compliments. Glad you like the piece.

Eeka Mouse says:I really like this necklace. Greens and copper are always a good pairing in my book! The focal looks as I’d imagine a dragon’s egg would – green w/ crackles. And the s-hook looks a bit like the dragon’s tail…
Oh yes, I know where Binghamton is – I stay there every year when I do the Central New York Maple Festival in Marathon, NY every spring.
