About this design:
i recently was asking if anyone ever felt like they just didnt have it in them to bead. well i have been really trying to get back into it. i think one thing i have been doing is trying to make my pieces "sweet" when in fact i am not a girly girl. this time i am trying to make pieces that match who i am. i would love honest opinions about this bracelet. thanks i appreciate

Judith Ann Boyer says:Fantastic piece! I love larger pieces, I know what you mean about “sweet” pieces, but if you are selling you need to have something for everyone!
But this is the kind of design I am drawn to!
great job…

Linda Talbott says:This is beautiful, powerful. Love the Lava Rock and the other stones you chose. Also like the detail of the sterling silver.

Purple Chick aka Violet says:My honest opinion …… I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!
I am a huge fan of lava rock…. and paring it with the blue stones is amazing… it makes me think of Hawaii and the lava rocks, and the ocean crashing over them….. happy dream…. wish I were in Hawaii right now…..
This is a fav of mine !!!!!!!

Green Eyed Lady Chick says:I think this bracelet is great! I would wear this all the time!! Sometimes trying new can be daunting, but don’t give up, it’s good to expand
your knowledge! You have done a wonderful job here
into my favs!

Vee aka Dream Chickie says:I love it!! This is something I would wear with my jeans and t-shirts. I’m not really a girly girl myself! lol I like the simplicity of this design. It’s something you would grab to wear over and over.

Faithful Chick aka Faith says:This is so beautiful! I love this. I am not in to big and bold but the design has an elegant feel as well as blue jeans. I would like the bracelet and a necklace with a little black dress for evening or jeans. I am trying to crawl out of my box also. I am the wearer of the tiny jewelry. I am slowly evolving to where I may be comfortable wearing the things I love to comment on. I hope so anyhow. Maybe that made sense I don’t know it is still early for me and I am shaking off late night creation fog.

Lee D says:I love big and bold too! I’m too tall for delicate jewelry so I would wear this in a hot second! I think it is great that you are trying to bead more from who you are and not what you think jewelry “should” look like.
On Mar 12, 2010 at 11:41 am #
Vampire Chickie Ravin says:I LOVE this, I, like Lee D, am far too tall for all the delicate stuff, 6 foot tall in my bare feet with a love of anywhere from 3 to 7 inch heels, usually platform, and 200 lbs, so me and delicate rarely work. Shawn, I’m not a “girly girl” either, so I feel ya, do what’s right for you, and if this bracelet is an example of you being you…You GO Girl! Cuz this is AWESOME! Fave!

Valley Girl says:I love the colors of this and all the differnt textures you used… Very nice work.

Canadian chicky karen says:I love this bracelet, and the colors are perfect together.

KittyMom Linda says:Out of this world. I got a great big grin on my face and it won’t go away. I can’t describe why, just that it makes me feel so good looking at this piece. A real winner in my book.

grama rose aka stormy says:Very nice you are using very nice color combo’s and I think large is in..Of course there is always the tiny gals who can’t where that big but I do what I like and so should you wonderful braclet!!

Shawn l says:thank you all! i am still playing around with different textures and larger beads. i really like this lava rock. i am finding it is easier for me now to bead-almost a release. i am so excited – i have spent a small fortune on beads and it feels great actually wanting to work with them. i didnt even want to look at them for quite awhile.

Jewelry by Shannon says:I too don’t like the ‘girly’ stuff … I can make it, but I don’t like to wear it. Love this bracelet …SLS

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:I absolutely LOVE this bracelet, Shawn!!! The colors, the design, everything about it!
I must have a split jewelry personality, because I can (and do) wear “girly girl” pieces and also bold & bodacious pieces! LOL Love them all!!!
I don’t know if you went back and read all the comments on your pick about being bead-blocked, but a lot of us commented on it after you did. There are a lot of helpful suggestions and a lot of hilarious comments!
On Mar 12, 2010 at 5:51 pm #
KittyMom Linda says:Me again, told you I can’t stop looking at this one! I still have the grin on because of it too!
On Mar 12, 2010 at 6:00 pm #
Shawn l says:thank you thank you thank you i probably feel better about this piece than any i have ever created. linda, the smile on your face is making my day! and lynn yes i sure did go back and read the comments i actually pulled out some of my beading magazines and studied them and realized what i was making and what i admired in the books was two complete different looks. i really appreciate everyones opinion. i actually am looking forward to sitting down and working on some new pieces. it has been weeks since i felt that way.
On Mar 12, 2010 at 6:02 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Hooray for Shawn!!! I could tell by your bracelet designs that you seemed to have gotten your “groove” back!
Glad all our suggestions gave you some help — I know they helped me!
I am REALLY glad you posted that pick — you have no idea how much.

Crazy Chick Frida says:I love this it´s fabolous and my style to wear, gonna by lavarock! Fave! However, Hm to tall for hm … oki I have missed something, where is the entrance for being to tall? I am 170 cm???
Can someone explain
On Mar 12, 2010 at 6:16 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:OK, if I just figured this correctly, Frida, you are 5 feet 7 inches tall. I am not sure where the “cut off” is for being considered “too tall” to wear tiny jewelry or “too small” to wear huge jewelry. I think you could wear whatever you like!
Glad I could be of help. LOL
On Mar 12, 2010 at 6:22 pm #
Chicky Zee aka Alice says:I ‘m not fond of lava rock but this is a beautiful bracelet and great design!!!!
On Mar 12, 2010 at 6:33 pm #
Faithful Chick aka Faith says:Frida you are a wonderful height. I am probably now 5 feet (60 inches converts to 152.4 centimeters). I am short and at the moment greatly over weight. Gained 30 pounds in 3 months, ugh misserablly uncumfortable for me. I am entirely too short to carry off too large of size jewelry. I would look like a Christmas tree with balls for decorations or definitely Wilma Flintstone. (by the way I made Ted and I Fred and Wilma Flintstone costumes one halloween. They were a hoot. My beads I used wadded paper towels with aluminum foil over it for beads)

Wemai Coffee Chick says:Great bracelet!! I love the mix of the blue magnesite and the lava rock!!
On Mar 12, 2010 at 6:56 pm #
Shawn l says:thank you ! ok chicks, I AM SHORT. i am just a bit over 4’10! but i do wear bold jewelry-i tend to wear solid color clothes and use my jewelry for extra color and interest. my husband has been asking me why i dont wear any of my jewelry and where it has been “sweet” and petite it just didnt match me.
On Mar 12, 2010 at 6:58 pm #
Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:I am all of 5 feet, exactly! LOL….short recognizes short, Shawn
On Mar 12, 2010 at 7:00 pm #
KittyMom Linda says:I’m 5-4 – right in the middle of not short – not tall. Just – there. – now, I am very tall sideways!!!!
On Mar 12, 2010 at 7:02 pm #
Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:LInda; me too! I am on a food calorie restriction again… Don’t say the “D” word
On Mar 12, 2010 at 7:04 pm #
KittyMom Linda says:Well, all we seem to do is transform our jewelry creations into food conversations. We probably gain weight just writing to each other – in that case – it’s worth it – bring it on!!! Wouldn’t give this up for anything.

Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:Yes…. Food is high on my list! Since my bum ankle, & I cant do karate anymore… sigh, I lack willpower Food, beads, Chocolate, Wine
