About this design:
My husband and son both hated this choker--and frankly I'm not sure about it myself. It's very bold and perhaps not terribly graceful?
But I wore it once and it attracted some attention. So perhaps someone would wear it?
So what do you think...should I take it apart and save the aquamarine for a more inspired design?
Components:
Glass/foil rectangles (approximately 25mm), large aluminum painted rondelles, aquamarine nuggets, small silver spacersRead the comments (or add your own)

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Gives a feeling of a cool cotton summer dress!
I like it!
I have to say, lately my husband has not been very appreciative of some of my designs either. Could it be men see jewelry differently? Did you like it before your husband and son saw it? Once that seed has been planted, it kind of makes you doubt your creation. Give it some time, see what others say and then if you still don’t like it, do what you like with it.
I think it’s beautiful!

Arja A says:I do not see any reason why not love it. My husband does not like many of my works. I think men have more “rules” about jewelrys???? Must be 1) gold or silver, 2) Shiny 3) tiny 4)something.
Maybe it is that lovely geometrial shape that is not in mens mind? Is here any man to give a comment?
I wouldn’t change it.

Bettys Beads says:Men…well mine is very supportive of my work and is a big help at shows…but…he is an engineer and doesn’t like any of my asymetrical pieces, which I love. Throw it our there…I bet you have a lot of takers. It is very pretty, but I like all of your work.

Jade aka Caryn says:It is hard to keep pieces we don’t really consider our best work. I like it but I am not fond of chokers. Is that why you don’t like it? I don’t like all my work but I wear it and people love them. We all have different tastes…including the husbands

KittyMom Linda says:I love it Susan. I think the big and bold is so in right now and you can wear that so well – keep it. I love those glass beads. Hey, you can always take it apart later – that’s what is so great about what we do. Wear it for at least for the summer – it oozes summer!

doktordesigns says:My husband generally doesn’t like big and chunky — so I do take that into consideration when I ask his opinion. But this piece combines big and chunky with funky color. That’s why I wonder about it — and probably why it’s more than he can take.
Love your idea, KittyMom, of wearing (or showing/selling) it for one season…
Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:I like it a lot, and I enjoy the contrast of the gems w/ the glass- however, I think it is most important that you are happy with it!

Dragons Chicky says:I like the aqua and the large beads, I just don’t like them together. The color just doesn’t seem quite right to me. The size is fine, the silver is fine but the blue colors seem to clash somehow.
JMHO.

Valley Girl says:This attracts attention! I love the silver on it. A little white tank top and flip flops, and a turquoise purse would set this up perfectly!

Nicki - Taylored Designs says:Girl you better not tear this apart!! This is unique, and stunning, and bold….need I go on? It’s so refreshing!! Please don’t tear it apart….you made it for someone, now you just have to go out and find that person!!

Lorraine S says:Simply stunning and original. Great artists are not often appreciated in their own country. Please don’t doubt yourself.
The colors are perfect.

doktordesigns says:LOL, Lorraine, I thought I might have to go to another PLANET to have this one appreciated.
Valley Girl, I love your fashion direction, too…you can’t take yourself too seriously when wearing flip-flops, and perhaps that ensemble would bring out the playfulness of the piece.
Thank you for your encouragement, everyone!

Waterfall says:I think it is a beautiful unique piece. I especially like the silver findings and the blue colors in the choker. I would not take it apart anytime soon.
