lizbeads says:Shannoon, I like the black background on this as it really shows off the variations in the stones, and the design. IF the stones didn’t have such variation you could go with something more “decorative” for background but that might detract from the beautiful stones in the piece.
Very nice piece, BTW!

Shannon M says:Thank you for the comments and the kind words. I tend to over think these things. You are right about it detracting from the design on a more decorative background. It would be too much.

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:The black background is perfect for this colorful design, Shannon! Lovely!

Shannon M says:Thanks all!!! I love the macro feature on my camera. No more fuzzy close up shots!

Chippy Chick aka Lindys says:Macro rules!!! My pics are much clearer now that I discovered the macro setting! As for back grounds, I generally use dark backgrounds for lighter colored designs and light backgrounds for dark beads such as deep purple and black. I bought a yard of black velvet and a yard of ivory crinkled stain to use as backgrounds. It works well for my pictures.

Linda Talbott says:Beautiful bracelet, and nice job with the photo. I think whether to photograph on black of some other color depends on the piece. Some get lost on black. I use black or off white for mine.

Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:Ooh, you have wonderful stones- the color shades are shown so nicely on the black background :d
