About this design:
My friend Sharon & I spent a lovely afternoon together recently. First, we worked in her friend's vegetable garden, weeding and harvesting part of a bumper crop of tomatoes. Then we went for ice cream. And then Sharon DRUG me into the LBS next to the ice cream place!
Pic #1 are the earring Sharon asked me to make for her. I sacrificed my Vintage scarabs (Lima Beads!) out of my ears to make them...
Pics 2 & 3 are other fun earrings I made out my loot. I had so much fun!
Components:
1. Green/White/Brown Glass Squares, Peridot Green Crystal Rondelles, Vintage Brass Scarab, Niobium wire & earwires. 2. Assorted Glass Beads, Montana Blue Crystal Saucer, s/p headpins & surgical steel earwires. 3. 'Creamsickle Quartz' (dyed) w/lacy beadcaps I squeezed into taco shape, Niobium wire & earwires; inlaid wood marquise shaped beads, Cu/Pewter spacers, 4mm rd black glass beads; Frosted glass coins w/ brush-strokes of color, sterling spacers.Read the comments (or add your own)

Eeka Mouse says:We also found this cool strand of rectangular stone beads labeled ‘died howlite’. I’m not sure if it was REALLY howlite, but it has an amazing dye job:Purple shading into creamy lavenders with pine green shading into creamier greens, plus one bead that’s mostly blue! Have any of you seen these? Know what they are???

Science Chick Runs Sibes says:Love Sharon’s earrings…definitely have to get some of those scarab beetles for myself. Like the others too–you’re so right about that creamcycle color (got to control the urge to lick the screen, LOL).
