About this design:
This is a string of prayer beads I made today. I was inspired to make a bracelet for my grandmother and a matching string of prayer beads for myself. I'll show the matching bracelet when I finish it!
All beads are from here in limabeads! Here is the fresh pick: http://www.limabeads.com/Angel-Bracelet-for-Mommom-G31283
Components:
Aquamarine, Apatite, Chalcedony, Pearls, Amethyst, Fluorite, Butterfly Charm, Angel Bead, Sterling SilverStep-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Take sturdy very thin plastic beading wire, allow yourself 3x what you want the length to be. Beads will need to have eyes large enough for the beading wire to pass through it at least twice. |
Step 2: Begin beading starting towards the end [butterfly] of the string, but do not add the charm. Continue until you are happy with the length. Use the beads randomly or in a specific order, whatever feels right. |
Step 3: Add several smaller beads, then the large, drilled charm [angel], and more of the smaller beads on the other side. |
Step 4: Begin to feed the wire back up through the section you've already beaded. Pull tight. |
Step 5: If desired, add more of the smaller beads to make the beginning and looped charm look even. Make sure you end with beads that will hug the wires snuggly but are big enough to fit another set of wires. |
Step 6: Put both pieces of wire though the eye of the looped charm [butterfly] and then feed the string back down through a few of the larger beads at the end, then pull tightly to make sure it's all snug. Tie it off below one of the beads, clip the excess and you're done. |
