Garnet's Secret
About this design:
This was probably the most complicated piece I've ever made. I wanted the 3 pieces to have the ability to be worn separately as well as in any combination
which made the closures, uhm interesting.
The locket is pierced and so are the filigree pieces on top. I colored them with inks and put a rivet through the center. It opens (the secret) and I put circles of scrapbook paper inside and layered gloss over it. The necklace is made of green and red garnet with sprinkles of red round glass beads that look like cranberries. It was made as a special order and is on it's way to it's owner.
I must say, looking at all the wonderful pieces in the gallery, I almost didn't post this. You all have done such wonderful things!

Vintage wire 22g, 20g, green and red garnet, 6mm red glass beads, brass filigree, alcohol inks, 1 rivet, brass locket, glossy accents, paper, Jim Holtz vintage clasp, jump rings, chain, lobsterclaw clasps.Additional Images:

Dragons Chicky says:Thank you so much ladies. The alcohol inks stay on where you put them. Once they dry, which is almost immediate, they are there for good, unless you remove them with acetone. The same goes if you spill them! You can , of course cover them with a gloss or semi-gloss, or whatever you wish. They can also be layered for other effects/colors. They are great fun to work with!
