"Diamonds and Rust" - Hot Pink Swerve (#5) (YOUR personal challenge too!)
About this design:
This huge hot pink topaz has a cushion cut top and a beautiful angular cut on the back that gives it a 'step-cut'/Asscher cut look when you look deep inside.
I have to confess, I've been holding onto this one for a while so decided with the "Diamonds and Rust" challenge, it needed to see the light of day.
The vermeil 'swerve' is made with amethyst, black spinel, garnet, rhodolite garnet, mystic pink topaz, vermeil disks, and lots of tiny black spinel and faceted amethyst to fill in the gaps.
This was a lot of work to get the balance just right and the gemstones and disks balanced. Since it was a learning process, decided to enter it into this challenge. BTW, it's really pretty on! SLS
